I will be filing my I-751 within the next week or so for my Thai wife.  I want to include a photocopy of her Florida ID card along with pictures of her credit cards for which she is an authorized user on my accounts. Should all the credit card numbers be whited out or covered? Not sure if USCIS needs to see the actual credit card numbers.

Also, if my wife's name is on a document (like mortgage) but is small and hard to see, how can I mark the location of her name without using a HIGH LIGHTER of some kind. Any advice for this would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance for any replies to these questions.

If you block out the card numbers, what proves her card is the same account as your card?  I left the numbers......no problem.

Actually, the numbers on her cards are not the same as mine, even though she is just an authorized user. But if you left the numbers I think I will as well. Did you photocopy both sides of her cards also?

Thanks!

Our card number are the same, so I left them.  I think I copied only the front showing our names and the same numbers.

i didnt provide photocopies of the card. I printed screenshots showing my wife as an authorized user. I made sure both our names were on the page. We had mountains of other evidence so maybe they didnt care. If it was an issue, it didnt hold up our process. She became a citizen last week.

Instead of pictures of her credit cards, why don't you send credit card statements? I don't think just the cards will mean much; USCIS wants to see comingling of finances, so if you can show that you are both paying for household expenses that would be more interesting and meaningful.

I would not worry about her name being difficult to find in the documents; they are used to reading through these kind of documents and finding names and addresses.

I sent statements as well as the card pictures.  If I had to choose one or the other, I would choose statements.

If you are not sending an original document then why are you opposed to a highlighter? I think that’s more efficient then making someone read a legal document just to find your wife’s name. As far as the CC- just throwing it out there- you have already provided USCIS so much stuff over the years including SSN - I wouldn’t be concerned they are going to steal your CC info. But I agree with sending statements that have both of you listed as well as transactions that show the cards are actually used- not just “created” for this purpose. Good luck!

Don't credit them with intelligence where it isn't warranted - a lot of them are completely inept.

I was told that the 50+ statements showing my spouse as an authorised user on the accounts were in my name only and therefore didn't show any co-mingling.... because they didn't look any further than page 1 of each statement. If they had they would have seen a clear section for each cardholders spend.

CR1 / DCF (London): 2012 / 2013 (4 months from I-130 petition to visa in hand)

I-751 #1- April 2015 [Denied]

April 2015 : I-751 Joint filing package sent fedex next day 09:00am from UK ($lots - thanks).
Jan 2017: Notification that an interview has been scheduled at a local office. Bizarrely still no RFE...
Jan 2017: 2hr wait, then interview terminated before it began, due to moving my ID to another state 2 wks prior. New interview 'in a few months...maybe.'   Informed them that divorce proceedings are underway, but not finalised at this time.
March 2017: An Interview was scheduled - marked as no-show as they didn't actually send out a notification of interview. FML
April  2017: Filed an official complaint with the ombudsman, and have requested Senator & Congressman assistance
August 2017: Interview - switched to a (finalised) divorce waiver. Told that decision will be made that afternoon, but no problems foreseen with my case.
October 2017: Letter of Denial received - reason given as 'I-751 petition was not properly filed'. Discovered ex-spouse made false allegations to USCIS in 2015. No opportunity given to review & refute allegations  - contrary to USCIS policy.

I-751 #2 - Oct 2017 - Mar 2021[Denied]

October 2017: Within 72hrs of receiving denial notice, a new waiver I-751, divorce decree & $680 cheque, sent to Vermont via FedEx overnight 9am priority.
Dec 2019: Filed FOIA request for full A# file
Feb 2020: FOIA request completed - entire A# file received as a .PDF; 197 pages fully redacted, and 80 partially redacted. Don't waste your time!
March 2021: I-751 #2 denied for lack of evidence. No RFE, no interview, and evidence in previous I-751 not reviewed - contrary to policy. Huge errors in adjudication.

N-400 - Feb 2018 - Apr 2021 [Denied]

February 2018: N-400 filed online.  $725 paid to the USCIS paperwork wastage fund

February  2019: Interview - cancelled after a four hour wait due to 'missing paperwork' on their end. Promised Expedited reschedule.

March 2021: Interview letter received, strangely dated after I-751 denial. No I-751 interview conducted. N-400 interview and test passed, given 'cannot make a decision at this time' paper due to the ongoing I-751 nightmare...

April 2021: N-400 denial received citing recent I-751 denial as basis for ineligibility, even though it should have been a combo interview 🤯

I AM JACK'S COMPLETE LACK OF SURPRISE

Service Motion - March 2021 [Sent via FedEx & COMPLETELY IGNORED by USCIS]

March 2021: Service Motion request sent overnight addressed direectly to field office director, requesting urgent review and re-opening, based on errors in adjudication - citing USCIS policy, AFM and memorandums as basis for errors. This was completely ignored by USCIS.

 I-751 #3 - June 2021 - Jan 2024 [Denied]

IT'S GROUNDHOG DAY

June 2021: I-751 #3 (30+lbs/5000 pages of paperwork) & another $680 sent to USCIS via FedEx ($300+..thanks) ....

June 2021: Receipt issued, card charged, biometrics waived, infopass scheduled for I-551 stamp number ten.....

Feb 2022: RFIE (no, not an RFE, a Request For Initial Evidence) received, for copies of the divorce paperwork that they already have 😑

July 2022: Infopass for I-551 stamp number eleven.....

August 2023: Infopass for I-551 stamp number twelve....

January 2024: Denial received, ignoring the overwhelming majority of the filing, abundance of evidence, and refutation of a provably false allegation. The denial also contradicts itself in multiple places, as if it was written by someone with an IQ <50.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

2024: FML. Seriously. I'm done.

You not supposed to use highlighter or cover anything on the documents you file, and you don't have to mail credit cards, random statements with both names will do it. Use a cover letter and list your documents with explanation, like: Mortgage statement with both names on it. You can also put an arrow point to your wife's name.

Some people use highlighters, but USCIS says do not.  I highlighted it below....😀

As fa I know the card of an authorized user have the same number with his/her name.

Cards alone will prove nothing. You have to file the card statements that show both names and the same mailing address. If the spouse is an authorized user, her name will show on the statement.

I have 6 different cards from all the major issuers (AE, Chase, etc.) as well as Credit Unions (Navy Fed). My wife is an authorized user on all of them. The numbers on my wife's cards are different from mine in every case. I would think using the statements, as you mentioned, would always be the better choice for evidence. ***On soapbox***A side note to anybody new to the US and credit cards. Don't use them for "credit." Maybe only as a last resort. Pay off your balance each month and use them for the cash back and reward points. Makes for a healthy credit score.***off soapbox***
