Good Evening, It’s been 109 days since USCIS has “actively been reviewing” my I-130 petition to get my wife from Colombia to join me here in the US.  Correct me if I am wrong, but isn’t the purpose of the I-130 to establish the validity of a bonafide marriage?  What else goes into the I-130 process...are they waiting for responses from Bogota, are the waiting for the results of a background check...any thoughts?  Her petition was opened in early February 2021...anyone else past 100 days of after USCIS opened their I-130?

Most of the time it just sits in a pile somewhere. You have just started a very long way to go.

Unfortunately most petitions take a lot more than 100 days. My friend recently got his wife's i130 approved and it took 10 months. You're right, i130 is for establishing that a marriage is bona fide. Covid has slowed everything down a lot, too. The wait times are unreasonable and I think nearly everyone would agree on that. That being said, each case is totally different. My wife's has been in the active review stage for almost two months. Some people are stuck on "received" for 6, 8, 10+ months. Others are approved in 2 months. It's all a mess and we can't do much about it until our case is past the estimated times on the USCIS website!

Edit: Sorry didn't realize you had already submitted an RFE. They are supposed to respond within 90 or 120 days to an RFE. I can't remember for sure.

They probably haven't even looked at it yet. I'm British but I filed from Colombia, and it took 246 days for me to hear back from them.

Wow...!  Unbelievable!!

Took us 277 days for I-130 approval applying from within the UK. Thankfully the NVC phase went a bit quicker at just over 2 months but now we are looking at roughly a 4-6 month wait for the embassy interview to take place. Looking at around 1.5 years total time for the whole process. It sure is a fun game..!

295 days and still waiting.  I spoke to the tier one guys and he said my file was sent "out for review" in April...whatever that means.  This system is broken!

My wife and I are about to file from Russia. We have to send everything to the Dallas Lockbox after we submit part of it on the USCIS website. Which service center handles the Dallas Lockbox? From what I understand, they can send it to any of the service centers? The times are drastically different, from 4 months at the Nebraska SC to 40 months at the California SC. How are we supposed to plan our life if we don't know whether it will take 4 months or 4 years before we can move?
