It is not a Left Right thing, but rather an elite vs the regular person thing.  When people like Hillary or Hunter get a pass, but regular people are put in prison for doing the same thing it is disturbing, but I suppose if the elite share your values and ideals it is Ok.

I actually don't disagree with you that the elite are so rarely brought to justice in a way that is meaningful. Madoff comes to mind as an exception, but it's the exception that proves the rule.

Some thoughtful sorts have conjectured that there's a reason why the Feds haven't moved in on Li'l Crackpipe, and perhaps it's because they want to retain the power to control the presidential situation.  Can't dismiss that prospect automatically.

When an elite hurt other elites then they may face justice, when an elite only hurts the "little people" then all bets are off.
