Yep London embassy too. From my understanding of the Required Documents page, the I-134 isn't strictly required and you can use proof of liquid assets in place of it. My plan was to get a statement from my bank to show how much I have in my savings and declare to the officer I wish to self sponsor.

Okay thank you!! How much do we need to self sponsor ourselves do you reckon? I know the petitioner income has to be 125% above the poverty guidelines but it’s quite unclear.

I'm not sure, I've seen varying reports on VJ about what they accept from several thousand to 5 figures.

If using assets instead of any income to self-sponsor, you need to show proof of 5x the minimum wage threshold.

So it a two people household - would it be 5x the minimum household income of $18,310 (https://aspe.hhs.gov/topics/poverty-economic-mobility/poverty-guidelines

So if no income stated on the I-134,  assets for beneficiary and petition must equal at least $91,550??

Yes, this is correct. If no income on the I-134, you're looking at 5x the minimum income needed for two people. Sorry I forgot about the two people thing; this version of the I-134 doesn't ask for household size, just dependents, which is a bit confusing. Plus, that's asked only for the income section, not asset section. My understanding is that work income goes under Item 15 and the assets you'll put forth to 'make up the difference' go into the following chart.

For the group: do we say we have 1 dependent under the income section if we mean the beneficiary? Or if we live alone currently, it's '0'?

Surely that's for AoS? From what I have read you just need to prove you won't be a public charge until you have your EAD.

No, it's for both, though AoS is actually 5x 125% of minimum wage. So roughly $115k. I-134 is only 5x 100% of minimum wage.

Not a great start to the week. Huge amount of RFESs already and not a lot of updates in general. June only has 1 update (RFES).

Also 4 RFESs came in on Saturday for 80000 to 81000 groups.

Wow this is horrendous. I’m very close to giving up and trying to find another option for my fiancé and I to be together

Damn I was hoping this wouldn’t happen but the holiday weekend takes its toll again 😩

Did anyone else notice that the receipt date for inquiry got pushed back a few days? I was just checking now, and I noticed that I can inquiry Aug. 10 (it was Aug. 12 before). It looks like anyone through April 11 can now inquire. I hope this isn't a mistake. If it's not a mistake, then hopefully this is a good sign, even though it's only a few days different. They have to start somewhere...

I saw that. I think it’s artificially decreased because of that huge June chunk they worked on instead of focusing on those waiting already over a year. I’m really afraid it will get pushed back again because so many filers are able to now file inquiries yet it looks like they didn’t do a lot of work in the earlier April groups today. Let’s see what the end of the day numbers look like

Very possible. Don’t give up hope you’re so close! I’m also worried about them pushing it again. Let’s hope they can stay caught up at least to the 13.5 months!
