I am waiting for my naturalization interview. I might have a chance to get the current one. But I might wanna get the new one. Beauty is in the eyes of beholders. But I have to say for this one. I am okay with redesign. But I am not sure about the color theme. Purple? I think staying blue and white would be nicer.

You may be correct and the new passport design may come tomorrow.  But... The Feds have been saying the new passport design's release was eminent any time now, since 2016.  So like about 2018 I placed this particular announcement in the I'll believe it whenever I see it catigory.

  • May 14, 2021: Submit Civil Docs for Stepdaughter
  • May 21, 2021: Submit Civil Docs for Wife
  • June 25, 2021: NVC review for Stepdaughter, RFE submit additional Doc
  • July 08, 2021: Wife Documentarily Qualified by NVC
  • August 31, 2021: Stepdaughter Documentarily Qualified by NVC
  • September 15, 2021: Received Interview Date from NVC, October 05, 2021
  • September 22, 2021: Passed physicals at Saint Luke's Extension Clinic
  • October 05, 2021: Interview at US Embassy Manila. Verbally approved by US Consul. Positive interview experience.
  • October 05, 2021: CEAC status changed to "Issued"
  • October 07, 2021: Passports tracking for delivery on 2GO Courier website
  • October 08, 2021: Passports with visas delivered.  "Visas on hand"
  • October 08, 2021: Paid Immigrant Fee
  • October 12, 2021: Temporary CFO Certificates Received
  • October 26, 2021 POE arrival at LAX
  • November 02, 2021 Social Security Cards arrive in mail
  • January 31, 2022: USCIS Status changed to "Card Is Being Produced"
  • February 04, 2022: USCIS Status changed to "Card Was Mailed To Me"
  • February 07, 2022: Green cards received.

Am I the only one that COMPLETELY LOVES the new design? It's very elegant and modern!!!! I'm so happy that my recently-received passport book was in regular size, not the 52 page 'large book', so this way I can fill out the visa pages quicker and renew to get the new design. But I still 100% IN LOVE WITH my current new US passport book no matter what 🥰

That would appear to be old news - mine was issued in 2014.

 

EDIT: Unless I got that backwards, and the (purple) one on the left is the new one - but mine seems to include the "Polycarbonate biographical page and Hardcover booklet".

Usually updates would have some invisible and important changes such as RFID readers, touch less data chips embedded (smart passports) etc.. I would prefer to get the latest if I have a choice.

The current passports that are being issued, with old design, already have a chip embedded.
