On the heels of the Senate's acquittal of Donald Trump, the NAACP, Mississippi Rep. Bennie Thompson and civil rights law firm Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll filed a lawsuit against the former president, Rudy Giuliani and two white supremacist groups, citing their role in the Jan. 6 insurrection.

Watching lawyers make a bunch of money?  Kind of like watching paint dry.  On the surface, this seems pretty frivolous as these folks would have to prove a concrete conspiracy.  Maybe they can get that information from Adam Schiff.

They may not win, but I would love Trump to take the stand and explain why he sat there and cheered on the rioters on TV and didn't give a tinkers dam about the lives of the VP or others at the Capitol.

McConnell before Jan 6: It's a witch hunt, I'm not going to call the Senate into session for an impeachment trial.

McConnell after Jan 6: Trump was guilty, but the time for an impeachment trial was before Jan 6.

Do you really think it will get that far as to Trump taking the stand?  I know the Dems/MSM want to keep Trump in the limelight as much as the GOP/Right Wing media wanted to keep Hillary relevant, but Trump is now irrelevant.

Both Parties are very cultish, so I am not sure what your point is.  Btw, it is my understanding that no Senate trial can begin until Queen Nancy walks the articles over to the other sie of the Capitol, and it is my understanding this was a very long walk.

It's indeed a very long walk when one has to walk through workers cleaning up the blood and the mess caused by an insurrection led by the President of the United States.

Regardless, for this lawsuit to go anywhere, the accusers have to show fairly definitive proof there was some sort of collusion between the parties being sued.  The Dems led by Adam Schiff spent four years trying to prove Trump/Russian collusion to no avail, and even the vaunted DC insider Mueller could not find anything in two years.  If they have the proof here, then I am not sure why this is not being referred for criminal prosecution rather than going the route of a civil lawsuit.
