The website says I will need to bring "All medical and specialist reports relating to the diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis (TB)." with me to my medical. I've never had TB, so should I just disregard this?

I am so relieved about the documents, it was really worrying me. I was literally about to start googling the safest ways to mail birth certificates haha. I guess I better get printing! I'm off to my GP surgery tomorrow to get that summary of my records too, which I have to pay £30 for! My mind is absolutely racing now lol

No worries at all, everyone on the forum has been so helpful to me since I started this in November 2021.Yes, just give Visa Medical a call on 020 7486 7821 and they will ask you a few questions and then you can book your appointment. They send confirmation by email and it explains everything you need to do and bring to the appointment. My summary from the GP was a 33 page document and the medical office wanted a basic version so I managed to print that off myself from my online portal and took that along with me too. If your vaccines aren’t up to date they will be able to give them to you. They are expensive but it gets it done there and then. I needed 3, my arm is still sore😂. Good luck

Yes, just disregard that. If you have had any serious illnesses in the past or had surgeries then take copies of any paperwork to show them. I went through cancer 5 years ago and am under a oncologist still, so I took along copies of my diagnosis and treatment paperwork and copies of consultant letters etc. They seemed pretty interested in looking through it and asked to keep it.

Your interview is about YOUR civil documents. They will look at your original passport, birth certificate, marriage certificate, police certificate, and some people have military, name changes, adoption papers, divorce decrees, etc. Anything from your spouse is already uploaded to NVC and the interviewer can view it. They do not want paper copies. They do all digital now. Your original civil documents will be viewed and handed back to you. When your visa/passport are delivered to you, there is no longer a  “big white envelope” of paper files for you to turn over at POE. All digital now so don’t print a pile of documents photocopies for your interview. The NVC reviewed that you have submitted all the right stuff and your I-864 was properly done and documented. That’s how you got DQed. 

 

About having an interview letter for the medical. They don’t care when your interview date is. They use the letter to verify your new case number (LNDXXXXXXXXX). You have that number from NVC in your DQ notice and that is enough for them. For major medical conditions or surgery, the visa doctor wants to hear more than your version. If you have high blood pressure for example, a short report from your GP saying you were diagnosed on [date] and take [Medication name and dosage] and you hypertension is well under control now. It’s not pages and pages of doctor records. It may be just a paragraph he writes telling when, how treated,, meds, if cured or still ongoing. If you went to a specialist for treatment, they can do the brief report.

Thank you so much for explaining this all to me, it's so reassuring. The internet is so complex trying to research this! I didn't know that about not getting the big envelope anymore either. IT makes sense that everything is more digital now. I feel a bit calmer now I know what to really expect!

I’m still learning too as I didn’t know that you don’t get that big envelope that you are not allowed to open. Wow that’s a relief that’s it’s all digital now. To be fair I probably have too much paperwork on me but I guess I’m just a bit old skool 😂. Good luck

Haha, I know what you mean. I still print out everything "just in case" e.g. when flying, as I'm always nervous about my phone not working at the right time!

 

I'm booked in for my medical in just under 2 weeks time, eeeek. Hopefully that isn't too soon and my interview date will be not long after that! The lady on the phone was so lovely. Although I am shocked at the price! Embassy website says basic fee is £290, the confirmation email says £380!

Yes I’m afraid there is nothing cheap about this whole process. With my 3 vaccines needed my total for the medical was £540!!.

Spouse visas went digital a while back. K1 fiancés still get the big white envelope. So if you read a post mentioning it, look at what kind of visa they got.

Are you asking about photos for the medical?  It was my understanding that they were taking digital photos at the exam and attaching them digitally with your file. @Icedgem Did they take a digital photo of you at the medical?  When everybody had paper files sent to the embassy by courier, the 4 photos requested were stapled to the four pages of the paper report. At that time either US or UK were okay because they were for ID purposes on the report.  You might give Visa Medicals  a call and ask about photos for the medical and what they want.
 

At the interview, they need US size for the visa.

2. 4 X Recent Identical Passport style photos - UK or US size

(we accept UK or US sized photographs)

 

But yes US size is required for the interview so you may as well just get all US size, taken at the same time (provided they'll be less than 6 months old at interview) 

Also just FYI to confirm to others what @Icedgem says, that same email says you need to bring

 

6. A Letter/Email from the embassy/NVC to confirm your case number and visa category

So you are fine to not have an IL as long as you have your case number from NVC.

I didn't know they had to be less than 6 months old at the interview (my visa passport style photos were taken in May last year that I submitted online) so I best get new ones taken juuust in case! I'd rather have too much than not enough

Dear Applicant,

 

Thank you for booking an appointment for your immigration medical with Visa Medicals Ltd.

Your immigration profile has now gone online (eMedical online system), so you are no longer required to bring any photos with you on the day. You are still required to bring the rest of the paperwork as stated in your confirmation email.

This was actually quite funny to me as I hate having my photo taken for documents so I literally spent a small fortune on going to the photo booths and having my hair all brushed etc until I was happy on a set of pics that were okay. I present them proudly at the medical and they inform me they are taking a digital photo of me, I looked awful, I’d been blown around on the tube and had a woolly hat on that morning and had a horrible stress spot appear that morning on my face!,, honestly, 😂

Ooh thanks for this - why would they not just update their confirmation email?! They were more than happy to update the price on it! Can strongly relate to stress spot on face - I've got an absolutely massive zit on my NVC pic haha
