I am currently dq’d waiting for a London embassy appointment.  I have heard the London embassy is particularly difficult with expedite requests.  What are some of the successful reasons that have lead to an expedited interview?

So you have no reason to expedite ? Bad idea to fish for a reason

I have 2 reasons to expedite .  1) financial hardship and 2) medical . However I want to  submit the reason that is likely to be most successful.  Or is it best to submit both at the same time?

That isn't a thing.  Each individual request is evaluated based on its merits.  Good luck.

Its clear here is plain English.  Expedited Request can be anything that you can justify . It isnt SAT where you need to get the right answer

Correct, and also note the OP has mentioned two categories of reasons for expedite, not the actual reasons.  Both categories carry the danger of negative impact on approval, depending on the details.

One of the reasons you don’t see many expedites at the London embassy is that traditionally there is almost no wait for an interview. Obviously COVID has changed a lot of things, including embassy interview timelines, but under normal circumstances you have your interview in London within 6 weeks of completing the NVC stage.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

I cited the NVC processing error where they overlooked our case because “unfortunately, that just happens sometimes” and my anxiety. I waited a week for them to confirm that they had received my expedite request and another week for them to deny it. If you have multiple reasons, I’d recommend providing both and including whatever details and proof that you have, if any. Good luck with yours.

London is fairly reasonable when they can be.

Back when I did my interview I had a flight booked for the 15th Dec (I know you should never do that) and they gave me an interview date of Dec 9th or 10th which I knew was going to be cutting it very close so I emailed (at that time you had to phone them, get a special code to get your email seen as a priority, don't know if that works now) and they rescheduled interview to 5 days earlier. It was still a tight timeline but I just managed it.

All you can do is ask - with whatever reasonable explanation you have. I think they will accomodate you IF they can BUT we're in the middle of a pandemic - it's very unlikely there is much flexibilty to be had as so many people are waiting for interviews.
