I just got a letter with a NOA again, which was pretty weird since I filed in october and had already gotten the NOA, so I logged into the USCIS account and there is a message about being an error with some notices sent from 1/5 to 1/21 and that the correct notices will be resent, so I guess there is some notice that they will send me soon.

Hey brother. Have you done your biometrics for your application yet?

I am asking because as a military member you do not need to wait for your biometrics appointment to go do your biometrics. You can simply walk in, show them your military ID and they will take your bios.

So you applied in one day and just walked into the next day for the biometrics?

What do I say there? And also did that reflect online after you did it.

I assumed that they are just reusing my biometrics since I haven't heard from them.

Yes, that is exactly what happened.

Right after I took my bios my online status changed to “we are actively reviewing your case.”

See USCIS instructions https://www.uscis.gov/archive/questions-and-answers-for-members-of-the-military

Q. I am an active duty military member and am required to submit biometrics at a USCIS Application Support Center (ASC). Do I need an appointment?

A. No. Active duty military members do not need an appointment and will be accepted on a walk-in basis at any ASC in the United States. Bring your military ID or DEP ID card with you to the ASC. To locate your nearest ASC, please visit https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=offices.type&OfficeLocator.office_type=ASC.”

Military members can even get their bios before they even apply for their N-400.

When I went all I took was my receipt notice and my military ID.

Be alert though, some of the security guards might not know this and not let you in. I had to go to 2 ASCs because the security guard from the first ASC was stubborn and wouldn’t even let me talk. The second one I had no issues with.

I will wait, most time if you don’t hear from them then they are probably using your old bio. Same thing happened to me. Most of my colleagues here on Fort Bragg got a bio notice and we all submitted to USCIS in same time frame since the Colonel signed off our 426 at the same time but I and another paratrooper did not get any bio notice while the rest of them got it so I just ignored it and wait to hear from them and now they are re using it.
Most of my colleagues submitted paper version to USCIS while I and this other guy who did not get the bio notice submitted it online so I don’t know what that game is.

I wanted to walk in my my CAC card but glad I did not take that 2 hours drive to Raleigh for what I may be turned down for.

Has anyone had any updates from the Montgomery office recently? Just kind of wanted an idea when my hubby may expect a bio appointment.
