​ When will I become a Moderator? 😭😥 ​

Seems I am still on the low end of the totem pole.

Seriously, how does membership stack? I see bronze, gold, star, diamond, platinum, lifetime and just now I saw ancient member😳. I am now certain that there are some membership levels that exist, that I do not yet know of and that are higher than my gold. The closer I think I am getting to be a mod, the further the goal shifts.

This is discrimination based on age of membership. According to chapter 6, section 4 and subsection 12 of the Geneva Code, a global website should have all levels of moderators as referenced on chapter 9, section 7 and subsection 5 of the same Code. The said moderator levels are listed on chapter 1 section 10 as Senior, Mid-senior and Junior moderators. I plead my case to be  a junior moderator (How I hate NEC Code book and their shenanigans or referencing and re-referencing sections..forming a maze just so as to get a simple answer. Why not just take me directly to the end of the maze or better yet, re-write what you are referencing?). 

 

To conclude, when will I become a moderator? 😭😥. Seems I am way off

How have you been discriminated?

Being a mod is a privilege and not a right.
I am sure there are many different things which are considered. 

You can not demand to be a mod.

You missed the whole purpose of my post. I had put it on Off Topic section for a reason.

On a serious note, I was asking how to become a mod becuase I would like to become one one day. Other than that, every other "hard stance' such as the discrimination you referred to, was a joke.

You need to get inside the writer's mind by looking at how he has written his story. 

C'mon you made me explain the whole thing. I hope it is still funny.

It was not clear that it was a joke? Sorry. Sarcasm/jokes are often hard to interpret online. I think it's common for people to have to explain jokes online because it often does not translate well.

 

Mods and Organizers are purely volunteer roles and have nothing to do with "membership stack" or reputation points. It's not like once you get to a certain level or get X points, you get to be a Mod or an Org. Orgs and Mods are picked based on the need (i.e. do we need more of them? Is there poor organization/lack of active modding?) and the general integrity of the user (no warning history, reliable/regular user over many years, user understands the rules/TOS of the site and how to enforce it).

 

I hope that answers your question. Being an Org or a Mod here has nothing to do with any kind if elite status at all, it's essentially just volunteer work. It's not something users get like some kind of site privilege after X post number/reputation point. It's decided on just as the site needs it, that's all. Right now, there hasn't been any obvious need to add any new orgs/mods, hence the limited number. People can also get demoted, either because they don't want to be Orgs or Mods anymore/don't have time, or because they don't do enough work to keep the role. I hope that sheds some light on this for you? 🤷‍♀️

 

Edit: Wanted to add that even Mods/Orgs have posts removed for TOS or for derailment from time to time. It's not like once you become a Mod/Org, the rules no longer apply.

Not all are chosen you need to have the way of the ToS revealed to you so you can walk in its ways.

Basically, mods came to be because people act up on the site, lol. In an ideal world, we wouldn't need mods because everyone would follow the TOS perfectly!

Well I can get verbose, very much depends on the subject, I think I may have been this morning with an I 601. A lot of what we see is repetitive and done before, or people not reading what is out there.

 

I have studied the ToS, have we not all, but its mysteries are beyond me so I let the Mods guide me its ways.

 

Ohh and the Supreme bit whilst I would like to think it has a quality assessment just means you have been around a really long time, not that you have a clue what you are talking about.

Many prefer the original scrolls if you are familiar with Aramaic.
