Don't be. Everyone's case is different. Ours might have been rejected for something we missed or didn't include. We are going to use a lawyer to re-file. They are just so expensive.

New development! Our credit card was charged $1760 which coincides with the totals for an adult or a child 14 and above. Hopefully it is for my wife and the ones rejected were for a simple error on her kids, one under 14 and one over 14. This gives us hope.

Did the I-130 online on June 9 and got the i-797 on June 11 to download.

Mailed the I-485 packet to the Chicago Lockbox and they received it on June 18, 2020. The credit card was charged on July 20, 2020 then I received the I-797 on July 27, 2020 via mail for the I-485, I-131, and I-765.

Here is a Tip sheet showing their intake process https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/directorates-and-program-offices/management-directorate/office-of-intake-and-document-production/lockbox-intake-processing-tip-sheet

Also, I sent the text notification document for each application and did not receive any text or email. It is a hit or miss with that document meaning that some people receive the notifications and others do not.

Bad news! I just got word from USCIS through online chat. Our application was rejected apparently due to the I-130s. Not sure why? How long does it take to get the rejection letter and package back?

30 days

The reps will tell you to email lockbox support if it has been more than 14 days and you have not received a notification or the payment method has not been charged. Lockbox support can take up to 30 days to reply so it is not always helpful. I sent them an email at day 28 which would have been July 16, 2020. I received their automated message but have yet to receive a reply from that email; however, it doesn't matter because my card was charged on July 20 and notices received on July 27.

It takes time to process and some will receive their notices within a couple of weeks while others within 30 days. I have even read cases that took 60 days until they received their notices. Be patient and give it some time. If it does go over 30 days, you can call and request to escalate as well.

Best of luck!

I resent the I-765 along with the NOA acceptance letters. Hopefully that goes well. I'm pretty excited that the biometrics were scheduled so quickly.

Seems like the filing category selected was wrong on Part 2 of the 485. We had selected 2b. but after reading the instructions it seems like a stepchild is considered a child of a US Citizen for immigration purposes so we selected 2a (as selected on the I-130). Also the I-864 needed to be one each per person/child. We had submitted the one prepared for my wife. Also on the 864 on Part 3, Q1, you do not check the box 2 and do not list anyone else since they will be principal immigrants and require a separate I-130, I-485 and I-864. This time we will also submit 765 in order to get social security cards for the kids. Thankfully, USCIS rescinded the I-944 for now and they recommend not sending the 944 for now (direct statement on the USCIS site).

I may be wrong on my assertions above and wouldn't mind a second set of eyes on this.

Thanks,
