Hello. I submitted the i130 for my husband on line on March 5. It showed it was accepted and fees paid. It still reads submitted March 5 but below it says March 17 your application is under review. Does anyone know why the date changed to March 17 and it’s just been sitting there since? Have to ask as it’s driving us crazy.
thank you for any help

maybe they mailed the receipt notice on that date. Or they added the case to the queue. Have you checked under documents tab if a letter was uploaded there?

Don't drive yourself crazy over such things, or you will lose it over the next months :D The date changes often, but the status doesn't.

They’ll show under review for 12 months or so depending on which service center deals with it... I wouldn’t watch it daily or it will drive you nuts.. forget about it for now and focus on other stuff

It is less than 2months, and there is pandemic out there. What do you expect?

I’m not sure how to individually reply to each comment. But thank you to those who provided support and suggestions.  I didn’t know I could look under documents for a letter submitted. Thank you, I will try that now.
As for the negative comment, I’m not asking why it hasn’t been approved yet, I am asking why the date is different from when I submitted it and if it means they worked on my petition, made changes or if anyone else has experienced dates changing under processing. No need to be rude.

To reply individually hit the “quote” hyperlink under the persons comment. It sounds like your case was last touched on March 17. Expect it to sit there for many more months. Nothing in immigration is fast and things are even slower due to the pandemic.

Thank you! I’m curious as to what they did on the 17th but I guess it could be anything.

Check to make sure it wasn’t transferred. My first date change was on the 17th as well and it was the transfer from nebraska to California.
in order to check this go to USCIS website, open Emma chat and ask to speak with a live agent and ask what service center is processing your case. If you have an IOE case( which you probably do) then they don’t notify you about transferring anymore and you have to ask.

Thank you! I tried asking Emma but it just kept giving me links about case transfer information. I had emailed USCIS on March 30 and they said to check processing times for the Nebraska center so I guess it’s still there?
