For those who have just filed your I-129f application with USCIS, this thread has been created for your needs and for you to be with others experiencing various aspects of this journey. This is a place to ask questions and to share experiences. All of you are here to learn together. Good luck because this is a lengthy process currently running 5-6 months from filing date for your NOA2 approval.

https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/K1_Process_V11.pdf

Also, since your application will go through several background checks, this is a primer on what goes on with the background process.

I know it sucks, but the best way to get through this is to lower your expectations and try not to compare your timeline to anyone else's. Don't forget that the people here on Visa Journey represent a tiny percentage of all the petitions the CSC must work through! When someone gets to your file, you'll hear from them. Stay busy, talk a lot with your fiancé about non-visa stuff, don't forget to hang out with your friends, take up a new hobby, go to a sporting event, and your time will come! Good luck

An explanation of why it is taking so long.

This thread is coming in very handy. We are just about to mail in our petition but we have one last doubt...

We used 3 pages of the part 8 for additional information which makes the form 15 pages. On the bottom of each page now it says 1 of 13 and the last 3 pages say 13 of 13. Can we just leave them or do we have to change them?

Hello,

I sent my petition via usps May 11th. I'm so excited. Tracking says it will be delivered Thursday. Blessings to us all.

Welcome to the thread. Settle in and make some new friends as there is a 3-6 month wait (average) to receive your NOA2. Good luck and stay engaged.

Hi everyone,

I sent our petition priority mail USPS on 5/12 and just got the text today saying it has been received. It says the date of receipt was on 5/14 when I check the receipt number on USCIS. Excited/nervous/hopeful all at the same time! Fingers crossed for easy journeys for everyone.

This is an overly exciting time for you guys. This is a big step and I am sure you are glad you have sent off the application. To understand the length of time between that notice, which commonly referred to as the NOA1, to receiving your approval, NOA2 can be as little as three months are most times up to seven months. So, sit back and relax so that your anxiety levels remain controllable. :D  Good luck and stay engaged.

I sent the I-129F on May 20th. I am yet to receive a charge on my card, or notification of receipt. So, I'm anxious for that to happen. I did use usps tracking though. So, I'm pretty certain it arrived at the Texas Lockbox.

Your timeline shows something different.  Have you received your NOA1 and since posting your question updated your timeline?
