The one on VJ was a K1.  K1 traditionally used to not have interviews often because they had recently been interviewed for the K1 visa.  If your AOS is from another visa type than K1, i highly doubt there will be a waived interview.

I have an F1 visa. My interview went from scheduled (03/18), to cancelled, to ready to be scheduled, to cancelled again. Last update I had was a letter coming from my FO asking me to submit evidence of a bona fide marriage. We already sent it. Who knows, they might waive ours too...

FROM F1 TO AOS

My interview for CR1 got cancelled due to covid 19 it was scheduled for March 26, 2020. But my husband had already gotten is medical exam and fingerprints done but we have yet to hear anything about our interview being waived or rescheduled... does anyone else know if there is something I am supposed to do to get a new date or is it just another waiting game till the Embassy opens back up and start rescheduling themselves??

I have heard people are being mailed their green cards without an interview due to the backup and closure with COVID19. Does anyone know if this is true? Is it only for people who were interview ready? My husband is waiting for his  fingerprint appointment but has been fingerprinted within the past year and has fingerprints on record as this is his fourth visa and entry into the united states. thanks in advance.

I'm no expert in the USCIS department, so this is just my opinion and what i have seen on here.

1. If this is to receive your 2 year conditional green card, then most likely you will need get biometric done and attend an interview.

2. If you applied for the ROC (10 year green card) and had your biometric done by USCIS then most likely they won't call you for an interview. (My case was like this)

Hope this helps!

My Timeline:

Citizenship

09/10/2019 - Submitted application online

09/11/2019 - USCIS received application

10/03/2019 - Biometric appointment

01/21/2020 - Interview scheduled

02/26/2020 - Interview Day

02/26/2020 - Approved

05/18/2020 - Oath ceremony scheduled

06/03/2020 - US Citizen!

I thought the same until I saw people in Facebook groups getting their AOS approved without interview and who came to the US on a B1/B2.

I dont trust facebook groups very much tbh. But yay if they are.  Possibly a preponderance of evidence.

I don't either normally, but more than one person has said they were recently approved despite coming here on a tourist visa. I don't think they're lying more than anyone here on VJ would. 🤷
