They do not work on a first come first out basis. Your IO is working on files and will return to you once he/she fits you in. It's just a part of the process. You're not the only one who has experienced this. Please remember to have patience as that is the only thing that will get you through this. Your embassy is not processing visas at this time but by the time that you get your NOA2 and case number they will have started the processing of visas, we hope.

Teaching moment: When you reply to someone's post put your reply outside the quote box so others will see and read your reply. Thank you for erasing the chart from the quoted box.

Do you know of they are processing cr1?

According to this website they are not processing visas. Also you should be a member of your embassy's website where they explain and answer your most pressing questions.

Update time, March filer friends!

Things are slowing now for March, but there is still progress as April makes faster and faster headway.

As you can see, RFEs are starting to decrease, and there were almost 80 March approvals this week. That's almost 2,500 K-1s approved, at NOA2, that were filed in March.

Good luck if you're still waiting. Chase the USCIS if you haven't heard, ask questions about your RFEs if you're unsure. Stay safe and keep positive.

(please remember to remove the photo, if you reply to this post)

This makes me so sad because I’m still waiting on them to check my rfe and they completely skipped over me and started processing April filers

Stay patient. All of our time will come. It has been 53 days since our RFE response was received. We were praying for good news before Christmas but it is all in God's time. Video chats daily as always:) Love will conquer all!!

***Edited: Guess I should have kept reading before replying. Congratulations on your approval:)

Does anyone have experience in contacting the USCIS Ombudsman? Is it helpful or harmful?

The Ombudsman is a neutral player in this process. So no, contacting the Ombudsman will have no effect on your application. Now, some have reported that they did witness movement of their case after contacting the Ombudsman and or Congressional representative and others have not seen movement. "your mileage may vary"

It may not be your personal background that is influencing your delayed NOA2. With countries that are using updated data sharing technologies and have a working relationship to share information on their citizens are more apt to move background checks quicker than those who do not use current technology to respond to a background check with the US. I think it's more the later than you personally.

If you go to the first page first post use that link and it will give you further knowledge as to what goes into background checks and why it sometimes takes longer for each individual than others.

Thank you so much for your insight! We received notification from Case Tracker that our petition was approved yesterday; another thing to be thankful for in the past year. We'll update our timeline once we receive the official NOA2 date.

We've joined DECEMBER 2020 K-1 NOA2 to NVC to EMBASSY and downloaded the TIPS, TRICKS, and HACKS pdf.

We've checked step 2 of https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/family-immigration/nonimmigrant-visa-for-a-fiance-k-1.html and noted the pre-interview checklist for documents we'll need to collate and translate https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/TNS-Tunis.html.

We appreciate the work that the Visa Journey organizers put into this forum, allowing us to share our journey so others can learn and get support. We had a renewed burst of hope when another couple petitioning for Tunisia received their approval at the beginning of December. The timelines are so helpful!

Any helpful answers please?
After submitting most recent RFE how long did it take to get the NOA2?

From the previous page of this very thread:

They have up to 60 days to react. After 60 days, you can place an inquiry. Most are experiencing 30 or more. Some beyond 60.

What is the time frame for them to make a decision after they received my rfe response? So far it’s been 15 days

Thank you!

Sure thing. You can also skim through the timeline search (this is in the "enable advanced mode" on K-1 visa timelines, sorted descending by recent NOA2 dates) and look for recent entries that have RFE response dates entered.
