Expired passport on I-751 pending. Plz help

This is very true for many countries. Just google the country and see if they allow residents to enter on an expired passport. I know Thailand will allow you to enter on an expired passport.

Based on previous postings maybe Philippines? A quick google indicates that you would have to apply for a travel document with proof it is a valid need to travel quickly that would only be valid for going to the Philippines one time.

How does the airline know that you have the right to enter the country? How do they know the person is actually a citizen when the passport is expired (people do lose or get rid of citizenships)? I'm assuming you'd need some kind of document from that country's embassy if there's not a valid passport?

Does your home country not offer expedited passport renewals in cases of emergency?

I had an expired US passport in Nigeria. They would not let me board. Even though the embassy told them long as I could prove I was a citizen (Had my birth certificate). Nigeria would not let me on that Lufthansa flight back home. I was stuck there 3 months.

 

See if you can just get a travel document then you can renew when you get home.

Documents required depend on the country.

More than likely SOL if the passport isn't renewed during the visit

Try to contact your embassy and see if they have something called a "laissez passer" sorry dont know The word in English.

This document is something you get from your embassy that you use when you lose your passport for travel. Usually it is valid for a few weeks, 1 month maximum. That is the only option you have because no Airlines will let you travel with just the expired passeport.
