Yeah, I am aware that the vaccination depends on age and that embassy certified docs in Croatia offer most of them, except the varicella one (I checked, both certified docs in Croatia list them as unavailable). Since I have never had chickenpox, that one will be a must. Weirdly enough I can get it through the Croatian immunization services. And personally I'd rather get it, because chickenpox in adulthood and especially pregnancy can be really bad. So I am on the fence if I should just get the other ones that are usually requested for my age group or wait until the medical.

The process goes much smoother with all the correct forms completed including medical staff signatures. Keep in mind that you will need your DS-3025 to present with your AOS package once you file. It's easier to have the right documents when you are in country then when you arrive in the US and you are paying extra for something that could have been done by using the instructions from the embassy. I'm just saying from experience of seeing others tackle this issue.

Yes, it is definitely easier to get the necessary documents here than in the US, I am aware. Guess I'll just have another chat with my GP, see if she can offer the chickenpox vaccine, since the certified doctors cannot. All the rest can then be tested for and done by the certified doctor as needed.

Unfortunately, you were unable to see ahead and not make plans that can't be changed without a penalty. Don't make that same mistake by resigning from a job or purchasing air line tickets.  Most embassy's on their website or in their P3 state the following:

"Visa issuance is not guaranteed. Therefore, we recommend that you do NOT make any travel plans, quit your job, or sell your properties, purchase airline tickets that are non-refundable or place deposits for wedding venue's until a consular officer has approved your visa and it has been issued."

Be very careful that you can marry within the 90 days after the beneficiary arrives in the US or they will be out of status and subject to deportation if "caught". Trust me it can happen. Just read a post some 6 months ago of this happening to another couple. Just another heads up to add to your bag of what not to do.

yeah we have made that one mistake on paying the deposit for the wedding. But no I wouldn’t quit my job and buy plane tickets yet :)

Thanks for the advice Greenbaum!

Congrats! You have movement.

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

Here is the letter that you will receive from Mumbai Embassy. Read it over carefully and follow the instructions. Another member of VJ added some additional information contained below which outlines what he experienced.

https://photos.state.gov/libraries/mumbai/1057584/senkx/BMB IV Packet 4 for Ks January 2015 Revision_001.pdf

Once you received your case number from NVC,  I would recommend you fill out DS-160 form and submit. Some say the packet 3 letter is nothing just waste of time same thing they have mention which you easily get from USCIS website when you called to the clinics to book your medical appointment date they will ask you have you received your packet letter or not. Just say yes and booked the appointment date however you will receive that letter within 2 weeks the day you will get your NVC number.

Go on USCIS website make your account with password and then pay your fees to Citibank or Axis bank. They will give you reference number. With that number you can book your biometric and interview appointment date. The fees are 18,500 and for medical but I recommend that you carry 20,000 with you in the event you need more. Be sure to  keep at least 7 days gap between medical and interview.

The website address for Hyderabad is

Here is a topic in another forum where those from the Mumbai Consulate are applying with good information.

And If you find anything not up to date or the information is wrong, please share your findings. Please compare the date of the P3 of mine with the date from your copy, once you receive yours from your embassy. Keep in mind that I try and be factual with my information, but I can't do it on my own and that's where you come in and can give back to the community those who come behind you. Without others ahead of you I would not be able to provide this to you.  I can only share factual information if folks like you continue to be my eyes and ears for your embassy. I wish you much success in your visa journey.

So we haven't receive our NOA1 but found the case number at the back of the checks.

I am tracking it but these two websites are giving me different dates. The first one is from https://my.uscis.gov/ and the second is https://egov.uscis.gov

Which would be the correct one?

It doesn't make any difference what the date as it's not used anywhere in the process.
