I’m so sorry you are going through that situation, it’s not right what they are doing with you!! Here the thing to adjust status is not difficult and I am willing to help you and guide you (not charge) I am not a lawyer, I came with k1 vida seven years ago and I did all my process so if u want I can definitely help you and hopefully your husband is willing to provide the documents that you need like w2, evidence that you live together etc; however always do everything with the true specially with DHS, because when u adjust status is proving that the relationship is real and everything ok; now if u feel you are victim of verbally abuse or more there is a protection you have and can apply for U visa since they have you work forcing you without pay that’s illegal and is abuse conduct! I am going to attach the info of the U visa!

Everything is going to be ok, don’t get desperate 👍🏻

All of this was possible had OP not gotten married on her K1 visa before she entered the US

Then went and filed for a marriage license while already married and not free to marry again.  That’s on both of them.

Now there are almost no options to remain in the US.   At least not any that I can tell that don’t involve starting over with a new I-130.  Which must be filed by the abusive spouse.

Big issue for a U would be the need to show Criminal Activity. Could you for example seek a U if you had been asked to baby sit whist in the US as a visitor.

I would look more carefully into the human trafficking/forced labor issue.  If your husband leaves you on vacation and you have no money or power to go anywhere but work unpaid, it sounds like this was by design.  I think they’ve been gaslighting you all along.  You’re simply being held against your will with the lack of status and money being the lock.  You really should be contacting authorities and you sound like you may be in a situation that’s more dangerous than you realize.

...his possessiveness from the time we met, married and then waited for visa.

Not all of us take action when we see red flags - some of us come from cruel upbringing, abusive past marriage etc

and oh some of us really and truly have got attached (may I say fallen in love)... can be very very difficult to let it go

This is all too real... my best friends cousin was brutally murdered by her husband a year after coming to the US (jealousy, possessiveness and etc is all we know).

Please remember SAFETY FIRST!

Thank you all for your care and support, especially for the kind hearted ones who offered an Uber ride and help filing on my own! I am overwhelmed with the amount of support I received here, from unknown people, yet my closest people couldn't care less. So, thank you ❤️

I will consult with an immigration lawyer lawyerand then consult with a divorce lawyer.

in the meantime, I started preparing my family for my probable return.

based on the lawyer feedbacks, I'll set in motion. This has been a horrible experience, you can't always take the leap and jump... It's our job to test the waster first to know what were getting into ... Lesson learned.

if that's the end of my journey, I'm done with the US. People dream to come here because the grass seems greener but I'm here and I tell you...the grass on this side is artificial. It's an illusion. IT'S definitely not greener.

good night friends, thank you your help
