Became a citizen today 🇺🇸

Our ceremony in Cleveland was smaller. We had an awesome judge who was very personable and took the time to take photos individually with each person and their families and friends. He asked all of our names and was super super nice. I think this photo shows just how fun he made it. It wasn't just taking an oath, we were truly welcomed as family, as citizens. The location in the courtroom was also beautiful. Couldn't have dreamed of a better experience. We were very fortunate for this process to be a very quick one from filing to oath. Wishing everyone else here quick journeys.

The immigration process caused me PTSD.

Congratulations!!

Did you need to bring the tax documents to the interview? I submitted them online but just wonder if you need to bring hard copies to the interview.

Thank you!
We brought the documents however they were never requested. We also submitted them online in advance. Was questioned about it. It was obvious that they already looked through everything. Because we answered "yes" to the question that was asking if since being a permanent resident if we didn't file taxes. We didn't one year because we were students and didn't have any income the whole year. The other two years we submitted transcripts. The officer said that that he changed our answer to "no". Because the gist of the question was did you ever not file when you were supposed to. But that shows me that they did already look at our submitted documents in advance.
We brought everything (that was already uploaded online) just in case. Would rather carry that around and not need it than not have something that was needed.

I’m beginning to regret filling my N400 while i751 is pending. Over two months since biometrics for N400  and over 17 months since i751 was filed. I751 was transferred over 2months ago to local office still no update on either case afterwards. Is this normal?

at least you have saved some money by applying N400 before they are going to hike up the fee.

Hey guys, today i had my interview at the Charlotte field office. The officer was super nice to me. She told me to relax and then proceed to the civic part of the test. I can’t remember all the questions but she asked about one territory of the U.S., how many voting members has the House of Representatives, for how many years we elect a president, how’s the father of our nation, the first thee word of the constitution. Then on a tablet that they have she told me to read a sentence “WHO CAN VOTE”. After i read that she give me the answer and told to write it on the tablet “CITIZENS CAN VOTE”.

I respond the first six questions right so she stop there and proceed with the mention above. Then she ask all the yes/no questions on the application and told me that i pass and she would recommend me. I decided to take my husband’s last name so she change it and the  she print a paper that said congratulations you pass or something like that. Now the website says that I’m on the list to take the oath and they will mail me my date.

Congratulations! I had my interview yesterday at Charlotte too! The officer who interviewed me is very nice. She speaks fast but I am able to understand her. It didn't took long maybe about 15 minutes. I passed my interview too! 😁If you applied based on 3 year rule and married to a US Citizen, bring everything for proof of bonafide marriage because in my case the officer asked me those. I am glad a am very prepared for the interview and have everything. Good luck to those who are still waiting for their interview. Just relax. 😉

No, they make you turn off your phone before you enter to the back, where the offices are.
