Hey everyone.

So, we have submitted our I-130 petition on November 1st 2018 and when I checked my case status today it said that a "Request for Initial Evidence" was sent on July 15th 2019.

I am so frustrated. What does this mean? It also states that they will not be working on our case until they receive the "Evidence" or when the deadline expires.

What "Evidence" do they need? What does that even mean?

The process is just so exhausting. Life has been full of constantly waiting.

Whoever had the same problem, please let me know how it worked out. We would be very grateful.

Looks like they sent something in the mail and I'm confused as if it didn't show up in your mailbox?

I did see it say "If you do not receive your request for evidence by July 30, 2019, please go to www.ucscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice."

(I never had this before so I could be wrong.)

Pretty much your file is assigned to someone already working on it. So wait for the notice for the rfe request you'll get it and send it in.

The deadline is for you if you don't get the rfe in the mail. Anyways you're almost out of the USCIS stage.

RFE letter will be in your mail either this week or next week. In the letter you will see exactly what they need and you will have to mail the stuffs they need usually within 30 days from the time you get the mail or so, it will be specified in the letter. No one here can tell you exactly what evidence they are requesting, just sit tight and wait for the mail and respond immediately, all instructions will be in the letter and most importantly do not forget to reply with an attachment of your info, petitioner & beneficiary dob, full name, case type and case number. This will help them to easily fish out your file from the huge pile of rfe files, good luck.

Hi, our evidence request was for a recent passport photo of the USC petitioner. It was of course easy to submit but we had included 2 already with the application. So it could be something very simple - or something they lost or think is unclear. Unfortunately we've now been waiting for more than two months since sending the response so I don't have anything very positive to share. I did read that sometimes RFE responses are handled as quickly as in 2 weeks.

There's no way to know for certain what they are asking for until you get the RFIE. Once you get it, if you aren't sure what they are asking for, then please ask. Until then, it's all pure speculation on what you either forgot to include, forgot to complete, or what they lost.
