Why should it take soooooo much longer?

i haven‘t done anything wrong?

It‘s not that they requested something that i won‘t have with me! I am just assuming!

Imagine i‘m older not using a computer, not reading all of this?! I did everything correctly so far! I can technically not know if or what else they might want!

Like the other poster said, it's up to the CO to decide. It can be shorter or longer but in general it is a year. You wouldn't know until they tell you how long.

Don't give the the consulate a chance to deny it based on finances.

I think this is what the OP doesn't understand.  That it will be a denial that she will then have to address.  So much easier to come prepared.

Unfortunately, it's under their time.  I know a few people that are under AP for months because they needed a Cosponsor. They already submitted the affidavit... and still waiting to get an answer... We can do everything right but if something is missing and even if it's simple , it will not be resolved from one day to another.  It can take months.  :(

This is what we have been trying to tell the OP, who remains convinced it will only take a week or so if she shows up without the required documents.

It could even be quicker for the petitioner to return to the US and start working. Joint sponsor then doesn’t need to go into a state of panic that a relative can see how much she earned last year. Two problems solved.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

That was the advice given to the OP in her first post here.  A temporary separation for the USC spouse to establish domicile and get a job was not an acceptable option.

The OP isn’t responsible for filing a support affidavit.  She’s caught up in some game between the petitioner who can’t do it and his family who hasn’t come through.

She knows how her day will go.  That’s why she’s here asking what she’s asking.   She’s admirably covering for a spouse who has less than stacked the deck in her favor.  So probably no need to browbeat her anymore.

I get that she isn't responsible for filing it.  I was pointing out that attending her interview without it will result in a denial.
