Any way to get I-751 transferred to local office in advance of Citizenship interview?

I have my citizenship interview 1 month from today.

 

Not sure if this is even possible, but... Has anyone managed to get their I-751 case transferred to their local office in advance of their citizenship interview, so that both can be adjudicated at the same time? Wondering if I should do an online request somewhere...

 

My I-751 case was transferred to national benefits center sometime last year.

No. 

 

They will hopefully have the foresight to do it themselves, but you cannot engineer it to happen.

don't worry about the 751 all you need to do is study and pass the citizenship interview

But the N-400 cannot be approved before the I-751 is approved.

I've read posters with 1) combo interview, 2) n-400 interview but decision cannot be made, 3) cancelled n-400 interview (ahead of time) because the I-751 folder was not yet in the local office, and 4) cancelled n-400 at day of interview.

 

Maybe call them up and ask them about your situation?

My I-751 case was transferred to national benefits center sometime last year.

You got a notice that your I-751 was transfer to NBC and it a good sign.  Since NBC arranges N-400 interview.  Most likely they will send N-400 and I-751 together to the local service center.  You can only send a letter to local office ( they did not answer to me)

 

In my case I did not get any update on I-751 ( request several time, no response), but both went to local office.  IO took only N-400 interview ( June 28) and said that he will review my I-751 case and both are approved on July 3, 2019.

then why did they schedule the citizenship interview?

Hi. I had my citizenship interview May 7, 2019 and passed and did not have a formal I751 interview. My spouse was asked Are you the husband? He responded with Yes. The USCIS guy said That will do. I am now a US citizen with a passport. Good luck.

When u have ur interview your 751 is in ur file. It is up to the local office how they want to process it.

The I-751 'should' be transferred to the Citizenship USCIS Office. If it is not, they cannot adjudicate the Green Card. In our case they did both at the same time with AP lasting maybe 5 minutes.

 

My spouse was called in and asked if he is my Husband. He said yes...and that was it.

 

Then the N-400 continued.
