Just checked my bank account and USCIS has already charged my account. Never thought I'd be happy to see $1,225 gone. Haha

Yes! I am waiting for them to remove $2450 from my account,  as I also had her daughter on a K-2. I want them to cash the check, soon. Our documents were delivered on June 14th.

The fee is $750, if the child is under 14...… Her daughter just turned 14, so I have to pay $1225.

One part of this process that confuses me is biometrics. When I get my appointment letter, I can go earlier for a walk-in, correct? Will this be booked at the closest support centre to my house, or will it be closest to the office I will interview at? For instance, there is a support centre closer to Wisconsin (not in wisconsin) that is easier for me to get to than the one in Chicago city. Even if I was booked with the Chicago one, could I attend the one closer to Wisconsin?

Sorry, I don't know about other questions, but from other threads I found out that it depends on the office whether they accept walk-in :)

For those that sent  a credit card payment form and did not get a charge on your credit card within 5 business days of USCIS package receipt delivery, you have an issue with your credit card payment not going thru.

Here's my experience:

1) Mailed four different I-130 petitions that USCIS Chicago lockbox received on Jan 18 Friday 7pm. By following Wednesday Jan 23, all 4 charges showed up on credit card.

2) Mailed I-485 package received by USCIS Chicago lockbox on May 31 Friday 11am. No charges to credit card for 10 business days that ensued. Received entire filing returned by USPS on May 14 Friday with USCIS rejection notice that credit card was declined- turns out my card company issued card number with new expiration date.

Interesting data points

- In the denial notice, the notice generation date was June 6 which is 4 business days after USCIS receipt of package. Alien number was generated as part of the denial notice.

- Return package was thoroughly checked, marked up, restapled and rearranged to the way a specific USCIS order and cadence. Apparently they still go thru a declined payment package thoroughly to identify any other issues that need to be re-mediated. Clear instructions was given on attaching a new credit card form.

- Greencard medicals were opened and marked up. We were not sure whether to get a newly sealed medical results. Speaking to USCIS telephone agent, they said no need as USCIS was the one that opened it and had checked it already. To be safe, we put in a new set of sealed medicals in addition to the USCIS unsealed one in the resubmitted package. Phone agent said they also scan all paperwork submitted upon receipt as well.

- Resubmitted package will generate new USCIS case numbers but the alien number generated by the first submission would not change.
