  1. Unfortunately our Embassy, Amman Jordan, is NOTORIOUS for not mailing/emailing packet 3. Its up to us to figure out instructions on our own. Some may get lucky and get someone from the Embassy on the phone to detail it but that hasnt happened for awhile. Very unfortunate. So Im depending on you guys to help some of us here. Perhaps Jordanian members here too? My biggest concern is the required ORIGINAL documents we must provide. I did find an outdated list on the Embassy website. Let me know what I am missing here: - Original I-134 signed in black ink from petitioner plus a copy and a signed I-134 copy from Co-Sponsor - with extra copy of each - Original Employment letter from both petitioner and co-sponsor - Original paystubs plus copies for petitioner and co-sponsor (co-sponsor will also include copy of business license since self employed) - Original certified signed 2018 tax returns or transcripts for petitioner and signed copy from co-sponsor - Original Certified Copy of Birth Certificates plus 1 copy of each for both Petitioner and Beneficiary - Original Certificate of Non-Conviction plus 1 copy for Beneficiary - Original Civil Certificate Letter plus copy for Beneficiary - Original Divorce Decree plus 1 copy - Sealed Medical Examination Envelope - 2-4 passport photos Also - Valid passport and copy of Passport for Beneficiary - Copy of I-129F - Copy of NOA2 letter - DS-160 confirmation - Photos of us - Chat/Video/Call logs Then...what from the above must be dropped off prior to our interview? Our Embassy indicates no less than 1 week, no more than 2 weeks prior to interview , documents must be dropped off at Embassy between hours of 11-12pm on working days. They do not indicate exactly where, what needs to be attached to it, NOTHING. If anyone knows, I would appreciate it. Then last but not least, IN WHAT ORDER DO THESE DOCUMENTS HAVE TO BE IN on day of interview? Again, no one has received instructions or packet 3. Even those way ahead of me as far as I know. Thank you! @A.Na. @leng22 @nkayx @C&M.2018 @Shrouq615
  2. Hi Guys, My fiances K1 interview is scheduled on August 11th in Jordan which marks the first day of Eid Al-Adha, I am not sure if this day was opened for bookings anyways or if they opened this day by mistake? I researched others here who found out their embassies were closed. I have emailed the Embassy numerous times, called and no answer, tried US Travel Docs and they dont know and basically said if they will close they will call my fiance. Well that is not convenient since I plan on flying out there to be with him at the interview. Has anyone had a similar experience of have their interview in a MENA country also scheduled on Aug11th? I tried to reschedule to be on the safe side but there is nothing. Thanks
  3. Asalam alaykum. Hello all. My husband and I have been married for a little over a year. I've been living here in Algiers since March 2017 before we married. We are exactly one year and five days apart in age. I have one son who is 21 as of yesterday and we actually have been trying for a family of our own. We've had one pregnancy that ended in miscarriage. (I certainly wouldn't include this information if it wasn't necessary.) I reverted BEFORE I met my husband. We did meet through a mutual friend online. I'm working here, am very close to his family but we are ready to go to the US for a while to establish a life there so I can be close to my son for a bit again. We are sending in our I130 this week. We are including 15 pages of Skype and Facebook conversations from the day we started talking until January of this year when I came back from visiting my son. Also three letters of support from his family members and three from mine plus 30 photos of us together, me and his family, us with family and our wedding. I will be moving back in March or April to establish residence again and start working again as a nurse but will still be using a cosponsor probably just in case. My question is: does anyone think we're going to have many problems with this petition, if any? And my cosponsor is a close friend who will be using her SSI and SSI disability income as our proof of financial support. Is this OK? I have SO MANY people fear mongering me that they are going to deny us. Thank you in advance for your help!!!
  4. Hi All I am a bit confused about my fiance's interview as it is scheduled on August 11th in Jordan. This marks the first day of Eid Al-Adha (August 11-14). I checked the website Holiday calendar https://jo.usembassy.gov/holiday-calendar/ and some Holidays are marked in parenthesis (observed) while others are not. The Embassy as NOT called us to reschedule as of yet and it may be too soon. However since i plan on being present at my fiances interview (yes they allow me to be inside) I wanted to get a better idea. Has anyone else experienced closing on Eid Al-Adha? Could it be they may still conduct interviews on this day?
  5. So unfortunately, Summer 2019 does not offer any more openings for K1 interviews in Amman. I think only one member here on VJ was lucky enough to find and book an interview for July 2 , otherwise there is NOTHING throughout end of August and I don't even see any openings for September (unless it isnt open yet). Note: Consulate advised me via email last week that they only allow 8 time slots per month for K1 interviews. I am reaching out to any K1 members here for Amman and encourage you all to email the Embassy asking they open more time slots for appointment bookings for K1. Otherwise we are all looking at interviews in September or later. Email them at: Amman-ACS@state.gov. A secondary email is ABPamman@state.gov. I emailed both addresses today myself and both sent auto responses. Here is what I said in my email which you can copy and paste: Subject Line: Case #AMM2019XXXX - Passport# NXXXXX - URGENT Dear Consular Officer, I am writing to you today because I am not able to find and book a date for our K1 Interview anywhere in the months of July, August and even September. On top of that, my NOA2 expires on XX/XXX and Im not sure if I will need an extension or not. I am aware that you only allow 8 spots for K1 interviews per month but it seems you may need to allow for more openings since I am still without an appointment and you have already received my package from NVC. Would you please open up more date/time spots for K1 interviews or book an interview for me anytime in the months of July or August? Thank you,
  6. I've created a poll to better gauge the wait times for MENA interviews.
  7. For those K1 applicants for Jordan that have already gone through their interview, what questions did they ask?
  8. Husband is under administrative processing and CO asked him if he could answer some questions that they will send to him through email. He said sure. But now I’m reading about a DS-5535 form? Does everyone receive this? I think this may be the questions that the CO was talking about but she never said DS-5535 and still hasn’t sent it via email. Should I call and ask them to send it? Or should I just leave it alone? In which cases is DS-5535 form usually required? This is too much to handle. I just want it to end happily. 😪
  9. I know my husband and I love each other and our relationship is genuine BUT reading hundreds of VJ threads on Morocco and the Casablanca Consulate, and I’m now experiencing a strong case of paranoia and nerves. I’m wondering if our case is strong enough for the consulate. I’ve read a lot about the importance of front loading as basically the CO has already made their decision before the interview. This is a long message so I apologize now for the headache that you’re about to dive into. For our I-130, I submitted 64 photos of us together from October 2015 - August 2017 along with dates and locations for each photo. I was working and still live in Morocco. We lived in the same city our first year together until he got transferred to a different city because of his job. Our second year, I took a job in a city that was closer to his but we lived in separate cities. We still visited each other on major holidays and a couple weekend trips. We were married in April of 2017 but I didn’t move in with him until my work contract ended in June 2017. I would go home for summer and spend about 1-2 months with family before going back to Morocco. I also submitted 60 screen shot messages with dates from WhatsApp that show our first convo in Oct 2015 - Aug 2017. I submitted our I-130 in Oct 2017. We have been living together for a full year, I subtracted the months I was visiting family over the past 2 summers. We also share the same religion. He is 5 years older than me. We do not have any kids and neither of us have been married before. Question: Is that considered enough evidence? I didn’t provide plane/bus tickets or my work contracts. (Though my employment history w/ address is in the I-130) I’m worried if this will look fishy to the CO: We signed our kitaab (marriage certificate) April 2017 and had a small party with his family. We wanted to hold off on a full wedding celebration until December 2018 because a lot of his family lives in Europe and I wanted my family to be able to fly up during the winter break, plus I was still working at the time and still intended to go home for the summer. I submitted photos of our small kitaab/wedding celebration with the I-130. Possible problem, only my uncle, his girlfriend, and my dad attended the wedding. My mother and half siblings did not attend. Though to be fair, my mom hasn’t been in my life for 14 years now. I’m wondering if the lack of family coming to the wedding on my side will severely damage our case. For NVC I submitted 15 more photos from 4 separate trips/events (4 of them being of the wedding celebration photos from Dec 2018). Dates of the photos are from Dec 2018 to Feb 2019. I had other photos, selfies etc but I didn’t think to submit these and I’m worried now if maybe the evidence will look a little weak on the NVC side since I submitted that to them at the beginning of Aug 2019. So like a 4 month gap on photos. 😰We are still currently living together in Morocco. Having a basic idea of our case/story do you see anything that would be a major problem/red flag for us at the interview. I plan on bringing extra photos to the interview but I’m worried they won’t give my husband a chance to show them. We our currently waiting for our interview date. NVC CC was Aug 17th. If you read this far, bless you.
  10. I wanted to ask this question to any of the older VJ users from the MENA region who have already moved to the US. What was the biggest culture shock for your SO? The hardest thing to get used to about living in America? Biggest challenges? What they liked/disliked the most? What made it easier and what made adjusting worse? What would your recommendations be for those preparing to move to America from the MENA region and what can their spouse do to better help them adjust? I would love to hear your stories and experience on this topic as I think it would be helpful to those getting ready to start this new chapter in their lives.
