Visa interview complete, left hanging....

Ok, So, we just completed our K1 visa interview. And I feel like I know less than I did before this process started.  The woman at the embassy asked my fiance several questions about when and where we met etc. She did not ask for any further evidence of contact.  She asked me nothing at all. Then she kept his passport (good sign?) but said there was some administrative tasks she needed to do. My fiance said she told him there was no way to approve the visa. I took the phone and asked her what was happening and she said she needed to do some administrative tasks but saw no problem approving the visa by the afternoon.

I take her at her word, that the approval is all but done, but wonder why and what more she needed to do.  I also wonder why my fiance was under the impression that there should be no visa.  Has anyone else had a similar situation? I am really stressed out because the process was so fast and the interviewer did not even request to see our additional proof of contact.

One other thing, the interviewer did not say Administrative processing, she specifically said administrative tasks. This has me very confused

That in itself can be a good sign, but no guarantee. The embassy does not have to accept or look at any other "continuing" relationship evidence if they don't want to. A lot of times they can make a decision off of the initial I-129f petition they receive when they review it before the interview. At this point, have to just wait and see.

Every application goes through post interview AP.  Your positive item is the retention of the passport.   A denial and the hand back the passport

YMMV

Î had my interview on tuesday. It seemed to go well, but they needed a tax return, so I sent them that the same day and I have been stuck in AP ever since. Several emails and they still can't tell me anything except "the document is under review". Makes me anxious as heck, but we can not do anything but wait. They also kept my passport, so take it as a good sign. It will now take as long as it will take, I am afraid.

Definitely update us here about any changes as I know you were really concerned about the age gap you two have.

As mentioned, all go through AP in some regard.  Keeping the passport is a positive sign that it’s expected to be routine and not overly long.  Stay positive!

Thank you I will definitely keep you updated.  Right now my stress level is on overdrive, I'm actually pigging out on the most awful Dunkin Donuts ever!  Bogota is a trip! I depart for California tomorrow morning and my fiance back to Buenaventura. We are both hopeful and encouraged but at the same time it feels like I've just run a marathon but the finish line keeps moving ahead of me.  I have to give my fiance props because he is very positive and is trying to stop me from worrying.  Nevertheless, I wish I had an answer at this moment, the waiting is so stressful. But thank you all for the encouragement.

Have a safe flight home.  Then take a nice long nap in your own bed.  Enjoy your weekend, and keep positive vibes that by this time next week, it will update to issued.

They are in a final stages, and created your Non-immigrant case now. It should update first to administrative processing, and then to "Issued" (It might briefly show ready somewhere in there too)

Perfectly normal, they check your case again after the interview. Even if they had said "approved" at the actual interview, still doesn't mean much. What you want to see is the status change to "issued", that's the actual approval.

All you do now is wait for the status to change, just like the rest of us did.

Didn't you guys have "AGE GAP--DETAILED INTERVIEW" written in red ink on your I-129F a few weeks back?  If so, from what you described it didn't sound like a detailed interview, but very basic questions about how you met.  So I wouldn't be worried at all because they didn't do a depth interview or a Stokes, and they kept the passport, all good signs, very normal.  Visas are never handed to you at the interview, they need to process paperwork and prepare the visa and attach it to the passport, normal processing time everyone goes through.  Come home to California, try not to worry, have a glass of wine, and soon you'll get the good news that the visa has been received by your fiance!  All the best to you both!
