NOA2 Notification

Hello, all!

We received our NOA1 in late November. I’ve been checking our status daily since the end of March. We are now within the range that visajourney predicted- which is exciting! However, I noticed that similar timelines show that couples who received their noa1 in December have received their noa2 already.

My question is, how accurate is the estimation visajourney shows? Also, will it show immediately when I search our receipt number on the USCIS website or will I receive the notification through the mail before it changes on the website?

Thank you all in advance!

Timeline

I received our NOA2 weeks before VJ's estimated date. It just depends! It took 5 months exactly to get our NOA2. But remember, it could take 5-7 months.

Also, I got our update on the App. It was the first to update us of the approval.

The timelines as noted are just estimates. There are many variables that can affect the outcome of how long it takes to process the I-129f petition. Also VJ is just a small percentage of the total number of actual petitions being processed by USCIS.

So while they tend to be relatively accurate, it again is an estimate. Each case can vary but amount of evidence supplied, RFE's, how fast the person reviewing the petition works, sick days, vacation time, how picky the reviewer is, ect..

08/15/2014 : Met Online

06/30/2016 : I-129F Packet Sent

11/08/2016 : Interview - APPROVED!

11/23/2016 : POE - Dallas, Texas

From sending of I-129F petiton to POE - 146 days.

02/03/2017 - Married

02/24/2017 - AOS packet sent

06/01/2017 - EAD/AP Combo Card Received in mail

12/06/2017 - I-485 Approved

12/14/2017 - Green Card Received in mail - No Interview

When we were slugging it out in the USCIS trenches, we found it quite useful to establish an account with USCIS. That way we were able to sometimes get a crucial bit of news, or vital information pertaining to our immediate case.  It is free to establish an account, though due to the length of most immigration journeys you may have to update your passwords a couple of times.

Here is the USCIS link:  https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

Completed: K1/K2 (271 days) - AOS/EAD/AP (134 days) - ROC (279 days)

All USCIS case tracking apps are unofficial. I had assumed they worked by scraping the 'old' site (or using the undocumented API behind it) because USCIS does not have a documented public API and logging on to the 'new' site requires two-factor authentication, but people have reported seeing different things on the old site vs apps.

I recieved noa2 but the sites still have me at noa1

I am seeing the same thing on my USCIS portal. Received the NOA2 on 4/1/19 and the USCIS portal still only shows "received" so I'm not sure what's wrong. However, I'd say it's not of any concern since the paperwork is the real thing and I'm sure the discrepancy in the online portal is just a mistake.

I searched USCIS on the App Store and it’s called “Case Tracker.” That’s the one I have at least.
