Pedestrian deaths are up because of 2 things, IMO. Distracted pedestrians and distracted drivers. People walk around with earphones listening to music and are oblivious to their surroundings, walking out in front of cars etc. Drivers are distracted by their phones, navigation screens etc. People text and drive. I’ve seen people FaceTiming in traffic. When no one is paying attention, look what happens.

That is addressed in the current issue of consumer reports

I thought the OP was a little strange coming from you.  Now I know why,  and applaud the ingenuity in your approach!

Around my 'hood, anytime it begins to rain, all the local Vietnamese rush to their vehicles (nothing but Toyotas, Hondas, and Nissans, ever) and drive exactly 25 mph in the left lane.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Add Kia's and it describes the vehicle distribution in my neighborhood which is evenly distributed black, white and Mexican

Stereotype of a broad demographic reported

And while doing it, as customer's most run the other way when we see them.

4runners hold value like crazy. I will say its outdated,  but getting a do over in 2020. Cant even get a power lift gate on a 4 runner. Women love them for some reason

Used car dealer done me bad, 20 minutes after driving it away the dash check engine and vsc lights popped up. Sales guy doesn't really want to know so I have been trying to get it sorted locally.

So far I have had it with a Toyota main dealer and two independant mechanics and none can get the lights to go away. I have replaced the pcm and bank 2 catalytic converter and o2 sensor, final decision from my mechanic is the truck is driving excellent so just run it until the real problem shows up.

But you are correct they are very basic and mine has no creature comforts, great off road because it's a body on frame design. Still plenty of parts available to keep them on the road which is what I wanted.

The vsc comes on automatically when the check engine light comes on.

Replace your fuel cap and clear the code. You can buy a cheap bluetooth code reader and code clear off amazon for under 40 bucks. You would be surprised how many lights and vsc codes are caused by fuel cap leaks

Bought a reader a few weeks back and have been consistantly getting P0157 and P0606 which is o2 sensor and pcm error codes. Both of those have been replaced and the codes persist, only difference between both banks is a slight voltage drop on bank 2 at the o2 sensor. No loss of fuel economy, maf sensor is cleaned and good, my mechanic is just scratching his head.

Thanks for the tip for the fuel cap, it's a cheap part so worth a try, will order one now.

I plan on doing that soon. But I found out about another way to get the engine code for my car. I think it works with most newer cars. I forget exactly how to do it but the instructions can be found on Google. Basically I think I turned the key from off to the on position (as far as it turns without starting the car) and repeated that 3 times leaving it in the on position the last time. Your check engine light will flash the code to you then you can look it up on Google. That is how you can get an engine code without a scan tool. I just wish I knew how to diagnose the awd code in my car without a special scan tool.

Don't bother with the fill cap with those codes being set.  I would look for loose electrical terminals at both the O2 sensor and ECM/ECU.

Good Luck!

Did it show a process for doing this with cars that have push-button starts?
