NVC Rejected / Invalid Document

Hi,

We received a message today from the NVC on the FEDERAL INCOME TAX RETURN OR TRANSCRIPT section for both the Petitioner and the Joint Sponsor.  We each uploaded a W2 PDF of the most recent tax year but both were rejected. 

 

This is the message we received: "We are unable to accept these documents as uploaded. Please delete these documents and submit them under the correct document type."

 

I'm not sure how to correct this.  We followed the upload directions correctly but still got rejected.  Maybe resubmit them in a JPEG format?  Everything else we uploaded has been accepted.

 

We would appreciate any help with this!

A W2 isn't a tax return or transcript so if that's the only thing you uploaded then that's why.

Thanks for your response.  But this is from the NVC website: 

 

You are uploading FEDERAL INCOME TAX RETURN OR TRANSCRIPT on this screen.

Please attach or upload one of the following documents to show your Tax Returns: Federal Tax Return, State Tax Return, W-2 or Other     It says upload one of the following....and has W2 listed as an option.

W2 is listed as an option because if you choose tax return rather than transcript, you need to attach the W2. W2 in itself is NOT enough.

The tax return is form 1040 plus the W2

The transcript is enough by itself

Man, they sure make things confusing! Ok, I'll just post the transcripts then and try that.

This. You are asking why the NVC rejected what you uploaded. The answer is because the W2 on its own is NOT what they're asking for.

Federal Income Tax Return Information. You must provide either an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) transcript or a photocopy from your own records of your Federal individual income tax return for the most recent tax year.

...

If you provide a photocopy of your Federal individual income tax returns, you must include a copy of each and every Form W-2 and Form 1099 that relates to your returns. Do not include copies of these forms if you provide an IRS transcript of your Federal individual income tax returns rather than a photocopy unless you filed a joint income tax return with your spouse and are qualifying using only your income.

Hello family.  I have a tax question also.  I am wondering for those of us who have to complete the DS-160 for K-1 online, are we going to have to download tax information on the DS-160, does it get mailed in to NVC, or should the beneficiary take to interview?  Thank you.

K-1 uses the I-134, which is presented at the embassy. NVC only assigns a case number and passes the petition along for a K-1.

NVC has been rejecting my documents saying it’s not on the right side up. They need it horizontal and I have been doing just that. It’s about a year now. Any advice?

We uploaded all of our documents vertically.  And all were accepted.  I've read on a different post that the NVC will reject documents that are uploaded horizontal
