Beneficary Birthcertificate no longer needed

This is for the CR1 when I first joined it was for the k1.........Hello all can someone please that have been through the first start of the I130 let me know do I need my husband(beneficiary) birth certificate? I am reading on here and  there is a line through it saying no longer needed. With that being said the only thing I need to translate is my marriage certificate? I'm not understanding because other groups say you have to. I would like anyone's help because I see getting things translated is expensive more expensive when your filing for 3. Thank you

Always refer to the official instructions from the source of the form.. in this case USCIS...  if there is a difference in information between the official source and other sources.. including a VJ post... follow the official instructions. 

My first reading of the I130 instructions  indicates , for a spousal application , the petitioner must  the marraige certificate but not the beneficiary’s birth .certificate

No, it is not needed with the I-130. It is needed later in the process.

Yes you will need the birth certificates.  No you do not need them for the I-130 or I-130a.  

 

I hear you about the cost!  We did a K-1 last year with two K-2s.  This year it is three I-130s.  Triple the cost at the filing stage!.  

 

As stated, never simply follow instructions from any site but the official USCIS or NVC sites.  There is as much bad and outdated info out there as there is good.  Be careful and ask here.  When in doubt, ALWAYS follow the instructions on the government's sites.

You had two questions.  One about providing the birth certificate for beneficiary and the other about translating it.  You'll provide it at the NVC stage, as others have mentioned.  But if in the local language of Haiti, you will not need to translate it as part of the visa process.  You may well want to do so for some later reason but you can cross that bridge when you decide you need to.

 

If the beneficiary was a step child, the birth certificate IS needed with the I-130 filing, but NOT for a spouse.
