Most likely. She said she reviewed our case and documents beforehand, had us take the oath, then asked some basic questions directly from the I-485 to confirm answers before saying she was going to approve the green card and if we had any questions.

Is it beneficial to ask questions? I mean if they say they are going to approve it then is it  better not ask anything further?

Generally it's not an issue, but I guess it depends on the nature of what is being asked. Always take "yes" for an answer, so no need to ask anything related to the adjudication of the I-485.

In our case, we wanted to confirm the address on file since we moved mid-process. We also wanted to confirm that my wife's AP would still be valid to use on her trip next week if the I-485 was approved but we didn't get the green card in the mail yet.

Apparently it seems to be a big mistake that we didn't send the bona fide proofs with the application.. 

 

My interview was 2 days ago and my online status still hasn't been updated...

Maybe the officer didn't finish reviewing your case by the end of day Friday. Try to give it until Tuesday I'd say.  

I feel like I've seen others who waited 5 days to get approval/update. So, there is hope.

I don't think so. I read someone's experience here where the lawyer attended the interview and said 4 words total or something like that. 

I feel like if you have complex case like one that involve multiple things out of the 4 points mention below, then your lawyer could help explain/present your situation to the IO.

You really shouldn't worry about it. Sending in proof of bonafide relationship with the application could potentionally have made your interview easier, but it won't have any affect on the decision. If they wanted to see certain proofs they would've asked for it at the interview. You'll be fine.

Sometimes you get interviewed by someone who isn't allowed to make the final decision, they can only give their recommendation to their supervisor who will then make a decision. This can take days or weeks. So don't worry, you'll have the decision soon, and I bet it'll be a positive one.

The approval might already be on its way for all you know, the website doesn't always update.

Just wanted to keep you all updated on what happened to my case!

 

Today, my USCIS case status changed from Interview scheduled to Case was approved. we approved your Form I-485! 

 

 Does this mean my GC will be getting issued soon? I have seen posts where people said their status was "GC is getting issued" or something. But mine is different from that. 

Is there any difference between these two statuses?

Yeah, mine were "My New card is being Produced for I-485" and "My case was approved" for I-130.

Maybe it's just the way the officer mark it in the system .

Congrats! I think your status will soon change to "new card is being produced". I wouldn't worry about this too much. You should also receive the approval notice in the mail or you might receive the welcome to the US letter first.

Thanks all for keeping telling me it'll be fine. I feel so much better now. 

 

Btw, out of the 30+ questions asked, I got 5-6 different answers from my spouse, but I guess it was okay?

The interviewer asked my spouse about 20 questions (which I thought were way more than I had expected, after I read everyone's experience on here), and took note of every answer to check if I will give her the same answers later. After my spouse finished the interview, my name was called and here is the flow of what I went through. By the way, I have no criminal history, no health issue, and no immigration issue in the past. 

 

 

I have to ask whether you front-loaded your evidence of bona fide marriage with your AOS filing. This happens often when people do not send anything but the marriage certificate. (Not k-1 cases)
