We’re a February 2018 I-129F filer and we have been waiting for quite some time now. I called uscis and they said that our case is pending due to security check but I also went to our infopass appointment and was told to call uscis because the security check has been done 1st week of october and they should have released the result by now but when we called uscis again, they just told us that security check is pending and I can call FBI myself. I dont know why they have different information.

Hi.

No, that's probably incorrect information. We call the USCIS helpline the 'misinformation line'.

Have other Feb. filers been approved?

Have u spoken to a tier 2 person? Tbh all u can do is wait. Some from February are still waiting and there are many from previous months waiting also.

1 member waited over 400 days to even get a rfe

There r other tools that u can use.

Can contact ur local congressmen or senator. https://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm

Contact obudsman.

IN REGARDS TO WHICH DATE TO USE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

noa1 date is actually they date on ur hard copy. Sadly if u reach the magical 220 day u must wait till 225 to contact Uscis. They use what the new site says. Even if ur paper says X date.

They added 5 days onto everyone’s accepted on NOA1

Did they give you a number to call?

When I went to my infopass appointment, they gave me the uscis hotline and told me to speak to a tier 2 officer. And when I called uscis, they did not give me the FBI hotline. I’m not sure if I should contact them or not

I don't think the FBI will give you any info. They are not doing a background check for you so they do not have to tell you or maybe I should say they can't tell you what is going on. It's a check about you just not for you but for USCIS.

That’s what I was thinking too. I wonder why tier 2 advised me that.

It's a background check of you, but not your background check. Nor would you even be able to do anything with the results anyway....USCIS wants them directly from the source.

Sounds like the OP has no idea who to contact anyway.

Yes, we waited over 400 days with the same response that “security checks are still pending”...only to finally get an RFE then finally NOA2. Probably just bad luck for us, but nothing happened until we filed a lawsuit. I would recommend contacting your congressman and file an inquiry with the Ombudsman at this point...although neither helped us unfortunately! I know other members have had better luck though.

No response on our case for over one year so the writ of mandamus...interesting that within 6 weeks of filing the suit we got an RFE 🤔 Maybe we could’ve just continued to wait but we really needed to know what was going on with our case do we could plan our future...waiting as long as we did, we were concerned and thinking of a plan B

security check for what?

what type of visa?

or is someone filing for naturaliztion?

or a child for parents to stay?

have you moved several times?

congressman will only get the same answers you get

actually they get a notice of the last correspondence and will read it to u

you will need to go to Senator"s office and sign a paper to allow him/her to do anything

they give it to HOmeland Security

and then wait

after a few months google your name and see it posted
