Was this after marriage or before?  Were you attempting to get thr SSN in a name other than what was on your K1 Visa? Did you try a different SSA office?

I tried after marriage in new York SSN office which is in the five star building. but they said wait for uscis approval.

Weird because a majority here, including myself, successfully received a SSN after POE and before marriage. (K1)

Definitely need advance parole. Leaving the US without one means that the Green Card application will be denied for abandonment.

Well not sure what their issue was then.  Most people apply right away before marriage and don't have issues.  But the SSA is notorious for having morons "helping" people.

Yeah I think so coz I just got update from vj member who said same thing happen with him as well but they tried with three different offices then finally he got SSN

This is not true. My husband (then-fiance) applied for a SSN the week after our wedding (3 weeks after arrival into the US) and received his SS card two weeks later. However, he needs the EAD to actually work.We just got notice about receiving his EAD card this week. He applied for it 4 months ago.

Anyway, back to OP's original question,

It's quite known now that the USCIS has majorly slowed down their processing times. The chance of receiving the work permit without expedite within your time frame is almost impossible with the current waiting times. So your option right now is to file AOS/EAD/AP right as soon as possible, do biometrics and expedite with a job offer letter from the company, like Geowrian said.

First of all congratulations for your husband's EAD card. I got comment from other vj members here about SSN they said they tried different offices then they got SSN during k1 coz someSSN officw don't make SSN until you got EAD like me. we tried but they deny and you are lucky you got EAD on time otherwise you can see few members applied in February and still waiting. I applied in April too in early dates before you. You can check my timeline.
