Question :For the interview, do both couples go in for the interview or just the beneficiary?

in Raleigh we went in together and all the other couples we saw went in together too.. but not sure if they were all K1-AOS's.. most of them had lawyers there too.. so maybe there were adjusting status from a different visa or an overstay..

Ooohhh I see, so there is a difference. Thanks

Yes there is
USCIS is so vague. U gotta make sure they say the magical words.
Typically if you're approved, it should already be done by now.

Since they were recommended for approval, could be the officer wasn't sure if they had everything, needed a supervisor to approve it, etc
All of which adds more waiting to an already exhaustively long timeline

I did not get a stamp at the interview. The IO said ours was a straight forward case and he was happy to close his day off with such a simple matter. He said he would recommend us for approval and that it could take anywhere from 1 to 3 months.

Meanwhile in the waiting room my husband heard every other couple say they'd have the greencard within 2 to 3 weeks. (He was never called in and sat through my 45 minute interview talking to other couples. )

On the letter I got it says to allow no more than 120 days before making a status enquiry. It is the same letter all the other couples got according to my husband.

Making an info pass appointment is not something I'm wanting to do quite yet since the nearest office is a two hour drive from us.

I'm not anxious to go home. I dont need to travel. My husband makes enough to enjoy a life of luxury at home if I wish. But I come from a working life, working 40 hours a week as a civil servant. It's hard to stay at home and be idle. I'm getting a bit of cabin fever.

I know how you feel -  coming from a working life and not being able to work is rough. The first couple weeks it seems like vacation but the longer the time is the harder it gets.

What letter did you get? Because I haven't received any letters after the interview.

I received my combo card yesterday 🥳

Question: I requested a Social Security Number through the I-765 form. Now what? Is the SSA going to mail the document to my address, or should I go there?

Pregunta: pedí un número de seguro social a través del formulario I-765. ¿Y ahora qué? ¿El SSA va a enviar el documento a mi dirección, o debo ir allí?
