I’m the beneficiary and I attempted to call today to get my NVC number and they said it will take up to six weeks for their system to update and receive the case number. Is this response quite common/standard?

I guess there are just just lucky ones who get them on the phone.  We will have to wait.

That is their standard generic message. It looks like it is taking about a week to 10 days to generate the case number. My case number was available 24 hours after it was received at the NVC

It’s been a little over a week for us now. The hard copy NOA2 date is July 17 but on the website it’s July 18.  I guess we will wait until next week to see if they have it.

It is up to you but I would also call tomorrow. I don't think they care if you call everyday. If it doesn't bother you, I would call tomorrow.

Okay. Thank you! Tomorrow will be 10 days so I hope they have it.

I just called the NVC and received my case number today, which is almost 2 weeks from my NOA2. My NOA2 was 7/16/2018 on the new website but the hard copy showed 7/13/2018.

I was on hold for 30 minutes before getting the number.

I have received  the same message day 9 and day 10.....but it’s normal. I was just checking early 😛. But it seems most don’t find out until 10-12 days. So just keep trying. It will happen soon. How many days has it been at the NVC?

Please help! I am bad at forums , have no facebook, my case for my FIANCE WHO IS CUBAN is ready to schedule the interview at the US embassy in Guyana. In order to see the calendar of open dates and schedule it I need to pay the US visa application fee in Guyanese dollars, in cash, in Guyana. Neither my fiance or myself is in Guyana. They explained to me it can only be done in cash in person although it does not have to be done by me. What should I do? Courier service I can trust? Any other couples there for visa interviews right now? If I make a facebook can someone add me to the group? I always read but never post because I'm obviously bad at it. THANK YOU for any help you can provide, I just received this news of being able to pay, then schedule the appointment this morning. Good luck to everyone.

More good news. The Embassy in Indonesia is receiving the packets from NVC electronically, and our case is now in Ready status after only 2 days. One step closer.

Hey there! How long did it take for your NVC status to go from " At NVC" to "In Transit" I got my number on the 20th I believe.

But WOW, great news, so you meant your case went from "In transit" to "Ready" in 2 days? That's great news, at least theres that!!

Have you already scheduled your medical examination? Or you will wait until you receive the packet 3 email from the embassy?

Looking forward to your response!!!

As I mentioned hard copy was July 17 and online on the new website it says July 18,  so it’s been about 9 days (inc weekends).  Should I be counting 10-12 business days?

Mine is July 16 and I am getting the same answer as you when I call.....I have seen others on here who got theirs less then 10 days....others a little more. So it seems, just keep calling. It should be soon.

I’m not sure I understand you....you where able to see on a website your NOA2 number? I thought the only way to get the number was to call or emailed, or mailed. I didn’t realize there is a site for it? The NOA2 received mine July 16....I have not called today yet to see if they have my number but I called yesterday and they gave the normal response, wait 30 days. I will be calling again today, since it seems that is the normal response and most are getting it in 10-12 days. But curious how you received yours?

Sorry for the confusion, I called yesterday and they said my case was received but did not give me a number. I called again today and they gave me my case number.
