It depends on your local office. My PD is May 30 and My status is like yours. Even call uscis won’t really help..

Yes, I know, just saw lots of people's status is already changed to 'case ready to be scheduled for interview', or at least got finger review completed, but mine still stuck in fee received, that worried me a little bit.

Timeline

Our interview is over & done!! It went so well, and I am so proud of Paul.

I'll post a full review on our timeline, but just a quick recap - we were in there less than an hour. The interview was scheduled for 1:05 - we went inside around 12:40, and were back in the car at 1:30. It was mild airport-type security going inside, and then we waited in a pretty quiet room with no windows or clocks (worst part of the whole thing, to be honest). An officer called us back after waiting what felt like maybe 10 or 15 minutes. Most questions were directed at Paul specifically, and they were mostly those "are you a terrorist/sex trafficker/drug mule/etc." questions you answer a million No's to on the application. Only question regarding our relationship was how we met. She looked through our photos we brought and asked who people were, etc. She actually said we brought way more evidence than she expected, being he's only been here/married since May, which was a relief - we worried we didn't have enough for that reason!

If your case is pretty straight forward and you prep yourselves well enough, it is really not as awful as you may expect it to be. We expected it to be more/longer than it was. She told him we looked fine and that she would put Approved in the system once his criminal background check came back. His case status was updated online by the time we got home to "Card issued/mailed". :)

Good luck to those with upcoming interviews!! The relief once it's over with is so worth it! Also - we asked if we have to do anything about his travel and work permit applications that are still out there, since we mailed all of those together with the I495. She said the 485 approval pretty much trumps all of it, and we don't have to do anything else. She said a denial letter of some kind may come for those, since they have to be updated somehow in the system, but that's it. Just in case anyone else ends up in a similar situation.

Håll ut, y'all.

It was WAY sooner than I had anticipated. I thought mid October at the earliest! But I checked the VJ timeline just now and it seems it has sped up in general, so that's awesome!

I honestly have to say that having all of this time - 3,5 months without doing anything at all really - has been a huge blessing... I have really had some time to think about what I want to do with my life and my priorities have changed entirely. So even though it's been tough from time to time I'm mostly just grateful.

Anyway, now that the card is almost here is when the real pressure starts. When will I find a job? Who knows. Wish me luck 😉

What have people been up to lately, by the way?

Is it really faster? When I checked 3 months ago right after we filed it said 3.5 months - 6.5 months and now the website shows a

delay and longer than that... but hey who knows :)  Who can believe them anyways after the mess we have all experienced so far 😛

Glad you are one of the first ones that can start the work journey and I hope you'll get the card soon so you can find the right job for you! I cross all fingers for you :D

Maybe you're right. I just saw people saying the average wait time was 4-6, so I was set for 5. But like you said maybe 3,5 months is just within the normal (read slow) timeframe.

Thank you so much sweetie! Hope you're holding up well! I cross my fingers for you too 😘
