Consulate Review: Auckland, New Zealand
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : February 26, 2018
Embassy Review : My interview was scheduled for 10.30am. I arrived at 10.18am and was told to go wait outside and come back at 10.30. Waited outside the lifts and went back in at 10.26am. Left my bag and phone and other personal belongings in a locker in the foyer area and was given a number for the locker. He let me through. I checked all our documents with B, who was lovely. She asked when I was planning to travel, confirmed she had all she needed. Moved to the next window and rang the buzzer, waited for about 10min and paid the fee. Then sat and waited for 2 hours for my turn to interview. At 12.30 I went to the next window and interviewed, was asked 4 questions, where we met, who traveled where and how many times and the story of the proposal and why I was now living in New Zealand when I was born in South Africa. Was approved and given my receipt. 2 days later my passport was ready at the post office for me to collect. Overall a good experience.
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
