Hey everyone...

What kind of evidence (if any) do we need to take to the interview?? My husband just got his social security card yesterday.  I tried to add him to EVERYTHING with no luck.

Bank only accepts utilities or phone bill or DL. Our phones are on a family plan and they said we would have to open a new act to put it in his name.

He's not on the lease cuz he didn't have a social at the time we moved. And the utilities are paid thru the apt so i can't add him on that.

He won't have his DL in time.

Our interview is on Aug 27.

We have no proof that our lives are meshed together.

Are these things needed at the interview??? All i have is a wedding album and our marriage certificate.

You may want to speak with another person at the bank. The social security number is the big thing. The passport and visa are both two valid government identifications banks accept. If they won’t advise them you will be closing your account and taking your business to a different bank. Be polite but be firm. I added my wife in about 15 minutes.

Hey everyone.  Anyone knows how many months more or less it takes after "case is ready to be scheduled for interview" to actually get the interview?

There is no set amount of time.  Some people are a matter of days.  While others it is Months.  It really depends on the field office that you will be having the interview at.  Some are faster than others.

Hi everyone,

After 6 months of waiting, my online status changed from "Fingerprint Fee Was Received" to "Case is Ready To Be Scheduled For An Interview" only 3 days ago. However, I just checked it and now it says "Interview Was Scheduled". Only after 3 days from " Case is Ready To Be Scheduled For An Interview", now they are telling me that they will mail me a letter for an interview. Is this normal? I still havent received my EAD and now it looks like i am gonna get my interview before my EAD card anyway.Do you think they made a mistake and accidentally updated my status? I might be paranoid but it doesnt seem normal to me that suddenly my case is moving so fast! Please share your experience with me....

Here are some which I was able to do very easily.  You should be able to add your spouse to your auto insurance , company medical insurance,    authorized user on your credit cards.,  beneficiary to your bank accounts and life insurance, add a line to your family plan for her and library card.  Spouse's foreign visa and SSN should be enough to open a joint acct.  Foreign spouse needs to register as a foreign investor and once you get the greencard you can change that.  The banks know the routine.  It is very common practice.
