I am so angry!! 2 hours before my interview and I have a call from a USCIS officer advising they have had to close down the office for the day as an emergency and that my interview will be rescheduled! I'm going to be so pissed if I have to wait another month for an interview 😡😡😡

very unfortunate.  it happened to us too in August.  We had to wait over a month and 2 weeks.  Hang in there...

No.  For our local USCIS office, when they rescheduled , we  got a phone call and email.  Your local USCIS office may operate differently.  I heard one instance in another state there was a storm and when the couple arrived for the interview, they saw a notice taped to the door saying the office is closed due to storm and they can opt to go to the nearest USCIS office hours away.  They did not get any call or email.

In our case, we were instructed to cross out the date on the NOA for the interview and write the rescheduled date.  You need to bring that with you to the interview. The security or the check-in receptionist didn't question it.  I suppose it is the norm.   We did not get a new NOA (I-797C) for interview.  It must be frustrating for you as it really tough on us when in few days was our interview then USCIS reschedules.  My wife and I just reminded ourselves, we waited this long so we can wait another month. 😏

Thank you for the info, I'll have to make sure I don't ignore any calls (I get a lot of spam) lol. We drove to the office this morning just to clarify they were actually closed and there was a sign on the door advising all interviews we're cancelled and that they would be rescheduled as soon as possible. I was just excited to finally get my green card so I could begin doing my driving lessons. I suppose another month won't kill me lol.

Oh, we tried to reschedule to an earlier date but all we got from USCIS is  that they only do interviews in that month and the IO needed approval from the supervisor and only approved case-by-case basis depending on urgency.    So bascially, you are stuck with the reschedule date given to you unless you have a very good reason.

That sounds about right for USCIS "deal with it" attitude. It shouldn't be TOO much of an issue. I'm not going to be working until mid next year and my husband shouldn't have a huge issue booking another day off although his work can be pain in the a$$ sometimes lol

So after my interview was cancelled last week I've been waiting for a new one to be scheduled. Received a new interview notice today and it's now been scheduled for the 15th November. Hopefully this time it happens and it gets approved.

Filing from San Antonio. I got my interview scheduled notice a month ago and the letter came a week later in the mail. Our interview is scheduled for Nov. 14th. You will get your letter soon! It seems as though the San Antonio office is both fast and easy going. Good luck!

F1 (graduated) with pending AOS after marriage! ^_^

Passed interview today.

We arrived 30 minutes early then waited about 15 minutes.  We hired an interpreter.  My wife, interpreter and i went to the IO office.  The interpreter  was asked about his credentials and relationship to us.   Glad that we hired a legal interpreter and not just bring a family member or friend to offer unbiased interpretation.    We were asked to raise our right hand and swore in  I notice he looked at our wedding rings when we raised our hands.

IO asked if i wanted to add supporting documents  to application.  I submitted photo book and other documents to prove our relationship.

Then he asked me to leave since 129f was already approved.

I waited outside in waiting room while my wife and interpreter was being interviewed.

IO asked about :

How did you meet

Birth date of spouse

How many rooms

Do you rent or own

Spouse job

About wedding

Spouse family

What do you do during free time together

If you don't work what do you do

The  questions were very basic and easy.   Then IO asked about 20 or more questions from the application form.

IO said it will take 2 to 3 weeks for greencard to arrive.  Informed my wife to apply for Removal of Condition before 90 days the 2 year conditional greencard expires.   My wife and interpreter came out first then He came out to the waiting room to say congratulations.  He look very scary at first but nice man.

Good luck to you all.  It isn't too bad.  Just be prepared and you will do fine.

That's great news.

How long did the whole interview process take? from the time you arrived to walking out the door?

Im wondering since we are flying back to the interview and flying back out very soon.

Interview was only 15 minutes.  Rest  of time was just waiting for our turn.  Total time for us was about 1 hour because we arrived 30 min early.  Good luck.
