Hey guys,

I applied for n400 and got my biometrics appointment mid-August. Before this I had an info pass appointment scheduled, to get I551 stamp, which is this week. I'm wondering if I should cancel my appointment this week, and just get the I551 stamp when I'm there for the biometrics appointment? Do you guys know if that's allowed or do I need a separate I551 appointment?

To do both at the same time, you need to make sure biometrics and infopass appointments are done at the same place. In Albuquerque they do biometrics at a "USCIS service center" and application review/infopass appts at a separate "USCIS Field Office" about 2 miles away.

Ok cool, I verified that they're at the same address.

Is there a way to cancel my existing appointment? Couldn't find anything in the confirmation letter.

Congratulation man for your wife . My field office is Houston that’s why I m bit anxious 😀

Hello fellow Houstonian :) I'm a September 17 filer, and just like you, I am considering filing for the N-400 next month. The Houston office was flooded after Harvey, and now it has been flooded with applications lol. I guess I will file for it anyway, wouldnt hurt.

Hi guys, my letter says that I MUST bring the following documents (see below). The thing is I don't know what they mean by SELECTIVE SERVICE (at least in my case). Aren't these letters suppose to be about your your case specifically, or is there something I am missing here? I read online that this has to do with register on a website if you were (are) living in the U.S while you're between the ages of 18 and 26. That is never being my case. Do you think I still need to do something?

Also, in the last one....do you guys know what other docs are they referring to with " any other documents you used in connection with any entries into the United States".

Just dont want to miss anything.

Thanks!

You MUST BRING the following with you to the interview:

•This letter.
•Your Alien Registration Card ("green card").
•Any evidence of Selective Service Registration.
•Your passport and/or any other documents you used in connection with any entries into the United States.

My interview was this morning. The officer first interviewed me and my wife for I-751 and was approved on the spot. But, as for the N-400...she said she was going to approve me but I recently moved to another state 4 months ago, so she said she couldn't approve me today then. She had to send all my application to the other USCIS state where I currently reside, but she wrote a long note on the application that everything was fine. :( Does anyone know anything about this? Like, how long will it take to receive an oath?

Sorry about that. As it is, probably you need to be thinking more about the N 400 approval than the Oath. Since they're scheduling interviews relatively faster, you might receive a letter in the next month or two (assuming that the note the officer wrote asks for quick rescheduling due to the situation). The oat will be right after (I have read that for some people, as long as the interview is in the morning, could attend the oath ceremony the same day). Good luck!

The letters are not customized for individuals, my wife had the same request.  Of course in her case, she is not required to register for selective service both due to age and gender, so she had no evidence.  If you were not required to register, make sure you tell the IO if they even ask about it.

Good Luck!

I would go for it.  In my wife's case, filing the N-400 while the ROC was pending, seemed to speed the process along.  She was done with the N-400

and received her citizenship in about four months.  I realize that some offices are backed up more than others but like you said, "wouldn't hurt".

Good luck!

Check the appointments early in the morning or just after midnight.  That is when the clock changes and appointments are opened up for the day two weeks out or so.

Hi all, I plan to file for N400 next month (September) but I just read about the requirements this morning and I checked that my tax returns for 2015 and 2017 were filed as head of household. I’ve informed my tax preparer to amend the two returns while I will pay whatever penalty/charge back that comes from it immediately.

my questions are:

1. would this pose as a red flag to my N400 Application or at the interview?

2. At what point would I need to submit/show the tax returns; is it during the interview or I have to submit it with the application?

3. If #2 is during the interview, can I use the most recent 3 years tax or it has to be the first 3 years of being a GC holder?

Note: My i-751 is still pending as well ... Pls advise ... and those with similar experience should explain how it works for them ... thanks
