I contacted the senator closest to me, but it went to voicemail, so I left a message. I'm calling them back tomorrow. Literally, I'll just keep calling until I get in touch with someone. I'm feeling confident that we'll get our NOA2 this month, just persevering. 

I feel it. Maybe tomorrow I'll get my NOA2 though. Nothing but junk and more junk today in the mail.

My NOA1 is from April 6th and I am losing my mind, not to mention I missed my university deadlines because of this delay and won't have a nice summer wedding on our anniversary  

 

Now I'm freaking out because of my passport photos - they are 35mm x 45mm and it just won't be fair to get an RFE for that when we all pay so much for a service that takes 4+ months to even open our cases and gives us no information whatsoever.

 

Idk. I know everyone is anxious. I just wish for some clarity. 

My NOA1 is April 3rd, so welcome! I just joined this forum myself since I spent most of my days in the March filers. The more people, the better.
We can talk about how lame USCIS is being while we try to patiently wait for our NOA2. 

I know how you feel. I personally just contacted my senator, albeit no answer, I am just going to ring them off the wall tomorrow until someone answers.

I really don't (at this moment) see this affecting those applying for K1 visas.  It appears to be mostly people looking to emigrate and family sponsorships (relatives, siblings, etc..)  My guess (and it is just a guess) is that Fiance and Spousal visas will be largely unaffected.  Now, what does this mean for our foreign fiances family and relatives?  I have no idea.  My fiance has a 15 year old sister, who we've discussed possibly sponsoring in later years, depending on what she decides to do with her life.  I could see something like this becoming more challenging, especially if there is no hardship on the siblings part, and is over 18.

It would take months if it even gets passed. This would affect ALL case types across the board including K-1 and CR-1.  But so we don't get too far off topic there is a Trump Megathread that is discussing this if you want to put the gloves on.

I've just seen on my case tracker that overnight/sometime last night another received 3/27 (most likely with an NAO1 in April) got an RFE yesterday. 

Thats 3 of the (approx) 30 cases I randomly followed from late March that have received an RFE in the last two days . 

Looks like they are still working those end of March cases. 

I think I need to see more April received to truly believe they have actually moved on from March received.

There were three RFE's for 4/3 received dates according to the Uscis tracker.

I wouldn't worry about the talk of capping immigration in terms of our situation. Spousal and fiance visas are exempt from the caps. Then there's the fact that any immigration reform would have to pass through Congress... and there's widespread dissent on the issue. This isn't even a blip on the radar screen. If by some miracle Congress could agree on something it would likely affect the diversity lottery and worker visas. Many of the representatives are descendents of immigrants and know the struggle of bringing family to the U.S. I can assure you it would never pass either house of congress.
