But right this will not effect us. This has been Trump's campaign that got him elected - to focus on bringing jobs back to American workers and raising those wages by reducing the number of immigrant workers in the US. This would effect US citizens obtaining green cards for foreign family members. Spouse visas won't be effected.

I know how you feel! He won't cut legal immigration by 50% anyways - way to aggressive.

 

On the bright side he has foreign wives so he might be okay with us

I know. It seems like every time I feel like I'm possibly getting somewhere, I hear something that cheeto face is doing that can deter all my progress. 

But, like @kat.cap13, I really don't believe this will have any effect on us. 

Here's to hoping NOA2's start rolling in. Once we have that, it will only be a matter of time before our loved ones are in our arms, permanently!

This process has me on edge lately and anything concerning immigration with this man does me no good, especially knowing my mom could be affected.

We all have "one of those days".

I was lucky enough as to be busy today and not hear about that new immigration reform until I checked VJ. Well, I admit I'm not even reading that when I can be reading a fun novel instead (which is my thing ). But my thought was that wouldn't affect us because you don't mess with love. If I can't go there or my green card is questioned, then the US would lose a current good skilled worker that would be coming to Spain or whenever we could be happy together forever.

@Estibaliz it was such a good idea to be organised! thanks to you, I discovered something! i am normally very last minute with these things. 

 

I wanted to share this with all of you who may have lived in a different country for more than 6 months. We need to provide police clearances from those countries, as well. mine was from the UK, and the service (without the delivery time) takes 10 days and it costs significantly higher if you want it faster! i wanted to share this because even requesting that document requires documents that may take time to collect! 

I applied for my U.K. police certifcate July 2nd, I haven't received mine yet. I followed up with ACRO and they told me it was already dispatched on July 12th! I followed up at the headquarters of the post office here because my local post office doesn't know where is my mail yet and apparently the certificate is delivered to a different post office, about the distance between Surrey and France! Haha. Hopefully I'll hear something from them soon. I reckon that Philippine Postal system is a bit unreliable on this one. Ugh.

Beer and wine is the only thing keeping me sane during this  

 

If you plan on having your mom come to the US just make sure submit the documents as soon as possible. I really don't think parents will be the issue, more siblings and extended family - so try not and worry!!

Lol, you two should try Spanish "clara". It's beer mixed with soda, and my fiance absolutely loved it when he came visit last summer. So refreshing! I had one this evening, lol

I would be willing to try it, what kind of soda and any specific beer? Or just any soda with any kind of beer? 

I mean, I can always just mix a diet pepsi (my brand of choice) with a yuengling. Not sure I will like it though.

What sort of beer and soda? I'll gladly try that, I love those sort of mixtures 

 

@kat.cap13 she is awaiting her approval just like me. My brother lives NY and he is taking care of her stuff. I thought parents were usually a breeze but HA. Funny enough, the case tracker goes OFF like 10 times a day with updates for her case. Why aren't we so lucky lol.
