Are you talking about the passport and visa, or the sealed envelope? That envelope contains your file, oh man. If you lost it, I, uh... I dunno what you can even do about that.

Has your fiancé contacted the embassy they had their interview at, it's a long shot but maybe they have a copy?

If if not then I don't know, you need that package to give over at PoE and then it gets sent to the office where you will have your adjustment of status done eventually.

Look for it! Where did you leave it at?

Agree!

Is it in the house, on the street or a cafe Where did you lose it? If in the house then it most be there.

You have to find it. All your documents are in there also the USC financial documents, ssn number and so on, you medical and whatever.

Look for it, search every inch of your house or car and everywhere you've been to when you lost it!

When you mean it's lost for good, maybe you forgot it on a bus or a taxi? That's the only way to lose it "for good" as you said...If that's teh case, try Lost & Found or public transport or something.

Your last resort is to contact the Embassy and explain the situation but you need to have a really good explanation. And you need to do it ASAP before your petition expires.

Keep us updated and good luck!!!

If it is the envelope (K1 package) then search and search some more. Those are some vital documents and many of them. I don't know if they can even be easily replaced in a short amount of time.

Contact the embassy and explained what happened. Of course, it had to be Morocco which is tough enough.  If your fiance took a bus or taxi, contact the carrier and see if a driver turned it in. If they were in a store, cafe or restaurant. Call them. You seem so sure of lost for good. Where do you think you lost it?

Thank you all for your replies each one is very helpful. She dropped it the street, not far from the neighborhood where we live in Morocco. But there is no trace of it now.

Maybe the person will return it to the embassy or her address if there is other places to turn in found things.

Does the envelope have an address on it (I'm assuming NVC or something like that) or your name?

Maybe a nearby business or bank has a camera that can help? Maybe she dropped it near a café and you can ask the waiters there? You never know, maybe not all hope is lost...
