I received our approval letter in the mail yesterday.  I had talked to USCIS yesterday and the day before.  Each time being told that it was in received status even though the approval date was 5/10.

It will come!

Thanks. This gives me hope that the person I talked to was wrong when she said mine is in received.

My theory for tonight for what's going on over there. You see, they have the regular workers, the ones that communicate back and forth to the phone workers and follow the rules. Then there are the workers (or should I call them PATRIOTS), who are not USCIS employees, who have infiltrated the CSC pyramid complex in order to get the job done. That's why we see mail approvals, but not online approvals. These I-129F ninjas are shuffling out approvals left and right and out of sight, so fast that nobody can see what's going on. They move in on the USCIS officer's desks like Bruce Lee and then disappear into the shadows with the cases that we figured had slipped into the abyss. Then the next thing we know, we get an approval in the mail, and nobody over there knows what happened.

I think you have much more time on your hands than i do. 😀

My congressman's office had done an inquiry for me and reported that it was in received status after my approval date.  I believe that the frontline staff have no idea what is going on and has no real information.

:) Yeah. My guess is that the phone workers are asked one question at their job interview, which is "Can you talk?". We call, they talk, about whatever they want.

I really don't have time, which is the sad part. I just finished a 12-hour shift of writing code, was looking forward to maybe spending a couple hours with my fiancee, afterward, but she is six hours ahead and could not stay awake. I have kids too, so it's a nightmare trying to juggle work, kids, and an LDR.

Hi, I'm posting for the first time but I have been reading through the threads. It's about the only thing that actually helps with the anxiety during this process. Anyway, I am not sure if you guys are aware of this and if this is a standard procedure or it just happened for me. So about a week ago I called USCIS, after seeing so many people get approvals or RFEs without it being changed online, and they gave me the standard it's been received message. They received my request on Feb 1st. So I asked to talk to a tier 2 officer. They had him call me back about 2 hours later and he was able to give me more details. He said on May 11 they sent out an RFE to me and I should get it by this week. So I'm still waiting to see what it will be. But the online systems and regular USCIS operators are still saying that they only received my case. I hope this helps! Can't wait until this whole process is over.

Thank you for the updated info and good luck with your RFE. Hopefully something easy to fix and approved soon :)

So now it turns out not even RFE's are being registered on the system... It seems to me USCIS might be digging its own grave. I mean, knowing the only way to get real info is calling and asking to talk to a tier 2 officer, I can easily imagine tons of frustrated people around the 100 days mark doing exactly that. So what's going to be next? USCIS denying the access to tier 2 officers and any kind of information except for the canned answers and the November being processed discourse?

As an April filer I'm fine being patient for now, but this whole new development is still appalling.

None of the data can be trusted at this point IMO. For the Jan. data, two weeks ago, approvals dropped and for the most part stopped. Then, periodically, we see unexplained spikes of approvals during the day, where as in the past they would happen at night. Recently, to add to it all, RFE rates dropped too and I can't tell if it's legit or if it's part of the issue we see with approvals. Regardless, it seems like for Jan. we're missing about 800 status updates online. It's why I stopped publishing data, it's just too confusing for people who aren't intimately familiar with all that's going on.

At the end of the day, it's a cluster f over there and we are just going to have to ride it out.
