Have seen some take days and some weeks. So it seems to vary depending on what is triggering the AP status. Maybe background check?

I am not sure.

I did submit Police Clearance Certificate which they asked for. Tomorrow the consulate will be close for 4th of July so I'm hoping it should change this week. I did receive an approval slip once I was done with the interview but I can't help being little worried.

Have you checked to see if VJ has an Indian consulate forum so that maybe you could see if others have went through this?

Yea I been reading about it and there are countless horror stories about AP on VJ which got me little worried. Anyway, I'll email them on Wednesday and ask for further instructions if my status does not change.

Congrats!! I think everything should be okay. Your interview would be before the NOA2 expiration date.

You should be fine. If noa2 expire before the interview then you have to start the whole process again. All the best for your interview.

Hi everyone,

I just got my NVC case number over the phone today.  Waiting on the hard copy from NVC by mail.  Is the NVC going to send the package to my beneficiary US embassy country or do I have to fill out anything or pay the visa fee before they do that?

Thanks,

Bluesky

NVC will send your case to the Embassy. Next thing normally is waiting for them to contact any of you for the next steps.

Actually, that's what your Embassy website says: "K visa applicants should not schedule their appointment until after they have received an Instruction Package from the U.S. Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City."

Always useful to check their website
