Hello there, me and my fiancee are collecting proofs of ongoing relationship and we got a big problem. My fiancee's computer got Crash last week and we got there all our Screenshots from Skype account( unfotunately we couldnt restalish them). We had been using only our phone's Skype account which mean on computer we had only Chat logs. We have tried to roll back our Both phone's to restalish as much as we can from our history but we couldnt pass June this year. That means we have only almost 4 months of our Chat logs and first two months at the beginning because we Used different account . Now my question is how to explain to USCIS that we cant get history of two months we are not able to restalish ? Should we write a letter of explication or to bring some proofs like reciept from new hard Disk he got next week ? Pls help who can we are very devastated of the situation

PS: we had tried to acces Both parts of Skype account from other computers, ipads, phones, not working information is not there anymore. Thank you in advance.

No :( we Used 99% of te time Skype! We got just Short text like are you there? Or call me on Skype for may month on Facebook but really Short ones, we also booked our tickets in April and i mailed him birthday gift in may month i was thinking to use It as a Proof that we never stopped talking. Since February we know each other we never stopped talking not even a day and i really want to explain to the USCIS that we got a tehnic problem not a relationship one. Of course ill Tell the truth anyways but my question was which is the best way to do It? Thank you

You really don't need to send every single chat message for your entire relationship, just a sampling here and there to show continuous conversation. Just a page or two each week is fine. For the 2 month gap simply put sheet in that states "Computer issue/system crash, unable to retrieve chat log". Then pick back up for the time period you have to finish out with.

It's really not the end of the world as chat logs are only one type of evidence. Include other forms as well such as visit proof, phone call logs, pictures...etc. You can only send what you have right? So don't stress. If you can't produce it you can't produce it. Send what you have.

Good Luck!

As stated above, just send what you have. Everything will be fine. Stop stressing out over it. Have a glass of wine or whatever it takes to keep you calm.

i think you should not worry too much about USCIS. they manly focus on the proof of when you met in person within the last 2 years : pics, flights, passport stamps.

chat logs are secondary proof.

i knew my fiancée back in 2012 and we been chatting since then. when we filled our I-129F we only provided Skype logs from august 2015. i changed my laptop and my fiancée changed her phone later, and there were no way i could get chat history beyond that date. so we just had chat logs from august 2015 till Mai when we filled. and provided emails samples from 2012 (not everything)

USCIS approved that and they did not ask or bother, waiting for interview where i think the CO may ask about it, which is fine i can tell what happened.

i think you will be fine with USCIS but maybe the CO will ask on the Interview date. it would be better if you have another amternative like emails or any other app where you can fill that gap!

Yea like they said. Take pieces from here and there with the dates just to show a timeline. Thats all we did with our "proof of ongoing" cause we use text messenger with iphone so I just scrolled through(luckily had texts from a year prior still in history; but even then we had about 6-7 months missing from the original emails we sent when we met. So just show a basic timeline and youll be fine.

I've got a similar problem myself. We use FaceTime to talk for a couple of hours a day but Apple is retarded and doesn't keep a proper call log of FaceTime. It just shows the last call duration and when you make a new call it resets to the new one. Shocking oversight on Apples part. Has anyone had a similar thing happen. Im sure they have seen as most people have iPhones.

Don't worry! When I filed for K1 I didn't even send those things. I sent 5/6 pictures with both our names on the back, the date and the location of the picture. I then sent all our passport stamps and flight tickets and my I-94 to prove how many times I came to the states. Me and my now husband had seen each other like every 3 months for 2 years so there were plenty of evidence there. If you've not really visited each other much then that's okay. Like everyone said, send what you have. So any chat logs/letters with a postage stamp that states the date etc will help.

Don't worry, you'll be fine. Good luck!

I agree. I-129f petition most likely needs to include proofs of meeting within 2years as noted on the I-129f instruction. But during the interview, you will need the proofs of ongoing relationship (chats).

Please refer to 7.a, 7.b, 7.b of i-129f instructions.

My fiance didnt submitted any chats too. Just pictures of us, travel tickets/itineraries, passport stamps and my i-94.
