I would wait until I get all the details from NVC (emails, etc). Fiance visas are valid for only 90 days...which I'm certain you are already aware. The excitement gets the best of us but keep a level mindset and don't make a rash decision.

Yea definitely wait until after the interview and the visa is in hand. I understand how you feel, but it's better to be wise and exercise patience for just a little bit longer. :)

Never buy a ticket unless you have the visa already or its on its way to be delivered to you. You will never know what the outcome of your interview will be.

The visa is valid for up to 6 months. The expiration on the visa is for entering the US. Once you enter the US via the K-1 visa, you then have 90 days to marry.

OP> You only have an approved petition. You have not even applied for the actual visa yet. Do not make solid plans until you have the visa in hand. What if it takes longer than you think to get an interview? What if your visa is denied? What if you are placed in AP and have to wait an undetermined amount of time before the visa is issued?

GOLDEN VJ RULE: Never purchase tickets until visa is in hand!

You would not believe the endless possibilites of what could happen between now and then. I've even heard of the delivery truck being robbed and all passports with visas stolen from truck...so please wait!!

I keep seeing that after people are approved it takes like 3 months to get an interview date? Does the embassy or consulate do that or do we make the appt? I don't wanna wait so long we have most of our papers ready we just need the medical really. Just don't wanna wait so long again. Just wondering who makes the appt.

Thanks in advance!!!

Welcome to the forum.

:guides: easily accessible at the top of the forum page. In particular, take a look at the K1 Flowchart: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1flow . One thing to keep in mind is that at the visa application/interview phase of the process, instructions/requirements are often specific to the interviewing embassy/consulate. The best advice is to contact them for more details.

Good luck on your immigration journey.
