LOL, I know damn well it doesn't cost $380 to renew license. Nothing is expensive in the Philippines.... lol

The $380, which I correct myself, it's $385 for the services of CGFNS.

All I said in previous post was:

"My wife's nursing license is expired in the Philippines. Should she get that renewed before she processes her paperwork through CGFNS or does it really matter if it's expired or not? She doesn't want to pay the $380 yet if it's going to be delayed due to her license being expired... Any advice would greatly be appreciated! Thnx"

I NEVER said that's what her license cost to renew. She didn't want to pay the $380 (actual $385) to start the process with CGFNS. I pretty much thought it was obvious what I was talking about so I didn't think I had to clarify what the $380 was for. I'm sorry I didn't find an even more simiplier way of explaining it and I don't see how my wife's friend has anything to do with getting money out of me. Nothing was ever stated about needing or wanting money. I think your getting off topic a little bit. The topic is regarding her friend in Florida, not her or her becoming a nurse. That has been figured out already and in process, thank you!

Gotcha, Makes sense now......

If he is always around when she is on the phone, how is she able to relay all this horrible information too your wife? I think maybe your wife should spend less time on the phone talking about a lot of nothing with this lady and more time with her own situation. You guys really dont know what is going on in this couples relationship so maybe you should not get involved, this situation sounds fishy and you dont want her spewing all that mess to your wife. Misery loves company.

No that's regarding something totally different. 380 is for her CGFNS here in the states. I wasn't talking about anything of my wife. So not sure where your getting confused. My wife makes alot more than that. It only cost like less than $50 bucks to renew her license, so again, not quite sure what your misreading. Nobody has asked me for money and my wife is not trying to get money out of me. Not sure where yoru getting that from what I am talking about her friend in Florida.

Andy -if that is your name - I suggest you keep out of your '' wife 's friend " affairs and take care of your own affairs with your future pinoy wife. There are 2 sides to the story . Why dont your wife friend tell her story . ? She gets 1 hr on the computer :secret: . I dont see her complaining . Just saying as many others echoed here - maybe she is just in the marriage for the green card or taking the "old guy " for a ride . Only time will tell .

I try to mind my own business but when my my wife is the one who comes to me and tells me that the husband won't let her do anything and bosses her around. Personally from what it sounds, she wants people to feel sorry for her. I take it you know who I am talking about since you obviously know she has an account on here and you know how much time she gets on the computer. I didn't know exactly how much time she gets on the computer and I never stated. I just said she couldn't talk much on the phone and computer and if she gets on when he's not looking, he makes her get off. Yea, if she gets an hour, that's plenty of time to do something about her situation. I just know what I've been told and my wife says the girl is scared and doesn't know what to do and my wife has told her to leave but the girl said she doesn't want him to get mad. Speaking of my future pinoy wife? Been married already for over a year... I love how ppl say things I never said. Again, I don't just go looking to get into other peoples lives....

why do you say she is being treated like a slave, or did I miss something? A bit offensive if you ask me

In my very first post, describing what my wife told me about her friend. That was my first impression after all what my wife told me. At the moment, that was the best word I could think of to described how I saw how he was treating her and again, after reading the responses... I can understand she had to know what she was getting into before she came here and she has all the ability to leave, but she wants to stay and stay for only the green card. She already stated as soon as she gets the green card, she's leaving him. My response when I heard that was, well if he's such a bad guy and he's trying to keep her from anything he doesn't want... What's to say when he knows the green card will be coming, he'll make sure he always gets the mail and makes sure she doesn't get her green card and keeps it from her. But yeah, I apologize for the strong word and if I could change it to something less offensive, I would...

It is proof how useless the CFO seminar is. We have at least two Filipinas in this thread who are clueless about what to do and are asking people who have never been to such a seminar for advice.

The Filipinas should be the experts and should be the ones giving advice because they are the only ones who have been to a seminar. If we believe in the validity of the seminar requirement.

The people that have the mighty intellect required to use google don't need the seminar in the first place, and the people who don't have that astonishing degree of intellect are not going to benefit anyway because they are just sitting there smiling and kissing bureaucratic butt in order to get that precious sticker. If you tell them they have to sit under a cow while it is urinating on them, they'll smile and say thank you for the same reason.

In my point of view, the CFO seminar is very helpful. I believe it all depends on those people who attended if they really understood what the seminar was all about. even an elementary graduate can understand coz the facilitator used our language. The question this time is, did they pay attention during the seminar and learn it by heart or all they wanted is to have their cfo sticker and go home.

This is exactly why woman who ‘cry wolf’ about abuse make me so angry. Abuse is a horrible thing. Victims should feel like they can get help, and help should be available to them. However when a woman chooses to lie about this to get out of perhaps a boring marriage that they used to get a green card, it makes it harder for actual victims to be taken seriously and they continue suffering in silence. And I’m not saying it is the case here, I don’t judge a situation from the account of a third party that has no actual facts of this mess. But still our first instinct, because we’ve read so many crazy BS stories, is to think it’s a scam.

Another thing I don’t get is how all cases from the Philippines are expedited, but yet they seem to emphasize how to apply for VAWA? Isn’t that just encouraging How to get away with Visa Fraud? Yes I know about the typhoons and all that, but other countries have worst living situations and are not expedited. It just sounds weird to me… but that’s life I guess.

Really? Doesn't sound right to me. She can leave him and keep her checks. Then work full time. Not really sure what to think. Honestly reading your message and your English I question the whole thing.

I agree I show this post to my wife, who is still in the Philippines, THE first thing she said to me was (while she was at the cfo) they tell you what you should do and then they give examples like that. I guess if a person do not want to pay attention or think they know everything. then it is a waste of time

the problem with some filipina they just sit there for cfo sticker. they don't really know the importance of that seminar. that is for them that they should not took for granted. This girl ..at the age of 35 ..If she could just pay attention to the seminar she would know exactly what to do. oh well I wonder what they are doing sitting there for two hours (?) maybe daydreaming holding their green card.

It just seems like there was no love in this relationship . Never was never will be. Who is using who I do not know, her or him, both or neither. It does not matter their relationship is going nowhere. What should she do? if as bad as she describe, then she should leave. If she just want the green card I am sure she will eventually figure out what to do.

Too many questions such as Why did he ask for prenup did he not trust her or was he just protecting himself? Did she not know about prenup? what was their relationship like before she came here?

There is nothing wrong with someone that wants to better their life, It is different then someone just wanting a green card and live in USA that is a different story

you should never use a person as a means to an end
