Anyone gotten their case # recently? Still hoping to see that maybe they are moving more quickly. Wishful thinking, I know!!

Haven't gotten mine either... called NVC today and advised me to call them 1st week of January....But will still give it a shot on 30th perhaps they already generated my case #

I also just called them this morning since I figured they would be down for a few days over holidays. They said no news yet...can take 42 days. I will probably call in another week or so. I have a hard time waiting haha always keep a glimmer of hope that things could speed up! :)

Hi everyone!!! Our case was received by NVC on December 1st...I wonder when would I get our case number? Should I keep calling them?! Help please..

@LE&GE:

My case came from VSC and was received at NVC on 1st Dec...therefore i will follow your timeline for updates. We called today and the lady said we check second week of January. Sad...Really how long to wait... and could someone also advice us on the exact documents we should start putting together for the next steps?

Submit DS-261 : January 7, 2015
Receive IV Bill : January 15, 2015 called after AOS showed paid, they released it overnight)
Pay IV Bill : January 23, 2015
Send IV and AOS: January 29, 2015
Scan date: February 3, 2015
Checklist: March 19, 2015 (only need to send south Africa police report)
Case Complete: June 3, 2015 

EMBASSY: 10 months
Interview appointment letter : December 4, 2015

Interview Result :APPROVED!!!
Visa Received : 4/13/2016 ( they sent us a email stating our visa was ready for pick up)

Started working!!: 5/25/2016
Finally paid green card fee: 6/24/2016 ( note said we will receive it within 60 days)
Green card in hand: 7/5/2016 10 year green card we done!!

April 2017 update: Marriage still going strong, baby boy getting bigger. Life is good

Last night I spoke w/ a nice operator who said my case "is in the building". We are out of the purgatory and into land of NVC (LOL!). I must admit 12 days is fast for them.

Good luck in NVC :)

Just got off the phone with NVC agent today and she said she doesn't have the case yet.. LOL... How about yours? I will try calling them prolly on 9th.....safest date I guess...

My case was received December 19th. just called and no case number. I try again next week. I know it will probably be another 2 weeks or so. But I'll keep trying anyway. :)
