After your petitioner becomes US Citizen, you are automatically moved to F1 category but there is a way to stop this conversion...I don’t think they will let you change category before grant  of citizenship

Of course given that there is an appropriate documentation for that. I don't think it will be automatically converted. Thanks though. I think you did not get my question.

Hi! So is it better to retain in f2b compared with f1?

It depends of the beneficiary's country. In your case is better F1 because according to the last visa bulletins, this category is 4.5 ahead of F2B.

That's what I thought too. Thank you so much!

Hi guys! Any news on when immigration ban will be uplifted??? :(

heard they want merit based system, if something like that happens...what happens to approved / DQ cases???

Hi dear. I'm also in f2b category and got dq from March 31st. Is this merit based issue something negative on our part?

Hi Fatima,

if present president is re-elected he has plans of making immigration merit based, which will throw all family immigration applications out of line. But passing of any bill needs Congress votes, he tried to get this bill passed in 2017 but Democrats + republicans voted against it , which is why we are still in Que. Family immigration continuity is in risk, if Trump is re-elected

If the current president is elected, family based immigration may remain under ban for the next four years but neither family based immigration will be scrapped or merit based immigration will be passed.

Hello all,

My LPR Mother back then submitted I-130 for my unmarried and over 21 sister with kids who were in the Philippines.

*My mother (LPR back then) filed I-130 for my sister back in May of 2016

*My mother became US citizen in January of 2017

*My sister received the Notice of Immigrant Visa Case Creation dated May 1, 2020 (which includes the NVC Case number and Invoice ID number)

We've tried to login at CEAC site but:

1) We can't access the Choice of Agent, or Fees tab yet at CEAC as it were still grayed out.

2) Visa category is F24. Should we have it changed to F11?

Confused why my sister already got NVC case number and Invoice ID number and status on CEAC says "at NVC", but the visa bulletin shows it is currently on 2012 PDs.

We just got a little excited on this.

You need senate approval. It can't be done with presidential executive order. Half of the Republicans are against it not to mention the Democrats. It will never pass the senate.

This is exactly the reason why no major immigration reforms have been passed in the last 35 years and its unlikely unless one major party gains 60 seats in a senate which may never happen.
