There's no vengeful ex-spouse number to call, although the idea of divorced spouses being rounded up and put into freight containers and shipped back to their respective countries tickles me pink.

I hope he has a job of his own, or else you may find yourself paying alimony.

There will be no alimony for a marriage less than a year old

Given that you asked this question, perhaps you have discovered one of the reasons he left.

I have no idea why he left.... He will not answer my calls nor will he reply to my messages.... This is the 2 nd time he has done this. The first time was back im Oct. He left the same way. While i was at work. He quit his job and went to mossouri. I cryed and begged and cryed and begged some more for 3 weeks before he came back. He had been sad because he could not find another job. Things just werent the same anymore. I trusted him before but when he came back it was not the same the trust was gone... Really I dont care if he leaves or stays. His sister and her husband were cosponsors I am sure that us where he has gone... They are welcome ti take care of him.... Im done....

I am a single mom living on a very modest income and he left twice for ni reason other than his not liking it here... So I doubt very seriously that I would have to pay any support to him.... Like i said his sister and her husband are his co sponsors and I am sure that is where he went so he is where he needs to be....

Sorry to hear about this situation and I hope everything turns out for the best. Times are hard for Americans with an education and I can imagine how hard it is for immigrants. My daughter went to school in Baltimore and she stayed there after her studies only to decide seven months later to move back home to Texas because jobs were hard to come by even with a degree. This has to be a stressful time for you both, wishing you both the best....As stated earlier at this point he can remove condition on his own once the divorce is final. I would recommend reporting to USCIS that he left so the current address on file is not where he is residing as they require to have his addres on file.

Good luck,

Sorry to hear of your situation... a shock i am sure... however, Sorry... No returns... You cannot do anything to get anyone shipped back, a spouse is not a package... If they came on a CR1 and have their green card, they can file to remove conditions without you and remain here as long as they can prove they entered the marriage in good faith. Things end, people divorce all the time... But there is no divorcing from your obligations on the 864... You are on the hook for 10 years or when they become a citizen.. But I do advise you to move forward with your life... Good lick

Isn't the financial obligation on the 864 related to welfare benefits? If he doesn't apply for food stamps or any type of welfare assistance, then she should be fine. Correct?
